A toob of just fish seems unlikely, though Safari DID hit one out of the park with Dunkleosteus, so I wouldn't put it out of the question. With amphibians, has Safari even done one prehistoric amphbian, ever?
I think a Prehistoric Marine Life toob would be the best way to go, just a nice little grab bag of fish, sharks, reptiles, and perhaps a few inverts.

I believe that Safari is viewing the coelacanth as "prehistoric," intriguingly, as the image was sent to me on a CD labeled "WS Dinos," in conjunction with the Cryptomundo interview I requested for the exclusive announcement. Loren Well, I guess if you want to be technical, most species not domesticated by people are pre-historic.

I guess you could just say that the Dunkie is a very nasty looking unorthodox fish and that's why it sells and they produce it-- Xiphactinus would look like a big sea pirhana, and brothiopepis would be hard to distinguish what kind of animal it is... ("Hey mom, can I have that fish?" "Isn't that a bug?!" ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) A prehistoric marine life toob would be great too-- Kind of like a sampler platter. But as for sales, probably a "Sea Monsters" toob would get more money- LIke full of plesiosaurs, pliosaurs, mosasaurs.. Although I wouldn't be surprised if safari were to choose prehistoric marines instead of sea monsters.. (AFter all, they could have just done another dromeosaur or something-- But instead, we see ramphorynchus, a new coelacanth....)

I bet the toob will include marine reptiles exclusively. Which is good, although I'd die to get a fish or an amphibian toob.

Well, marine reptiles all by themselves wouldn't be so bad-- If they are indeed comparable to the kaiydosaurians, they'd be great. I imagine a little (better!) kronosaurus, plesiosaurus, placodus, henodus, metriorynchus, opthalmosaurus, ammonite for good measure, ... Oh boy, i'm really salivating now! ;D )

But wasn't it said that the guys in the toob couldn't pass for babies? I always thought marine reptiles pretty much would resemble their adult forms as babies you know? sorry I hate to be a downer.
You think it could be a pterosaur toob???

I think it could be almost anything, and as long as it's not just a retread of the Big 10 (rex, tri, stego, etc) it'll be sweet.

I don't see why the babies would resemble their adult forms, there must have been differences, right? I still say it's a marine reptile toob.

Isn't it toobs (plural)?

I just remember it being said that it would be really difficult to make these guys look like babies thats all. And when I think of that marine reps dont exactly come to mind first. Those little ichthyos look alot like their mommies. I'll shut up about it now.

So, the Kentrosaur is about equal in size to the Procon lexoviosaurus...? Thatis small.

Well, the real-life animals were about 12-14 feet long, which is pretty small by Jurassic dino standards.

Well, yea, I get that. I don't care that it is small, it is just interesting the WS has been putting out slightly smaller replicas. I'm excited about the kentro. It will be the right size, but has a better overall shape to it than the lexi. I love my lexi, but this Kentro looks to be way better....so far. Remember that the real things tend to look way better in life than in pics, so these should satisfy fairly well.

A Ceratosaurus would be sweet ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Agreed, but somehow it just feels like that animal is a little too....big? for this new line. But then, they are hopefully doing the brachio....no confirmation on thet tey, right? It doesn't look like they are doing too many resculpts right now.....

The Scutosaurus was also fairly small and it was quite good ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I'm glad they're doing that kind of figures, the Kentro will really look great in a dio with a 1:40 dino.

Well, either way, they are apparently not doing theropods in this year's new releases.....I have felt for a long time that these medium to smallish animals were poorly represented, except for Kaiyodo, so it is nice to see the diversity so far.

It does almost seem as if they have paid at least SOME attention to what the collectors have been requesting, doesn't it?

I am happy to see that a positive impact can be brought to the forum with a little breaking news. Good. The original technical problem has been fixed, and the three images of the new WS replicas should be visible to all now, at my original announcement of this over at Cryptomundo. You will find that the techie's fix of the glitch included his removal of the ordering instructions, etc., from the images, so all of the jpgs over there are now clean. www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/ws-coelacanth/Loren
