These next few posts are really to show off my recent Colorata Fossil Fish box acquisition. Since others have already shown these in their standard poses, I thought I'd have a little fun with them instead. Here is the Arapaima, the biggest of the bunch: Next is the Polypterus: I hope to get a couple new ones up over each of the next few days (there are seven total). A wonderful set by Colorata, I am very happy with them!

Radman, those are great ! I love your idea of combining fish and reptiles! See my Irritator - Diorama, where I had the same idea as you, but I have to admit your versions and approaches are way better!

Hey, Libra, I like that Irritator dio! A little swirl of the water first (this is where the kids help out), and it would be top notch! Anyway, I was getting bored with the concept and running out of ideas, so thanks for re-inspiring me. Here is the Alligator gar getting turned into Sarchosuchus gar: I figure if crocodilians haul large terrestrial prey into the water, it would be smart of them to haul large aquatic prey onto land. Doubt they do that, but what the heck. I should have brought a spray bottle to wet these guys down, but I was already several hunderd meters into the woods before I realized they were drier than I expected. Oh well, only two more fish to go, sturgeon and arowana, suggestions, anyone?

Great work!
Maybe you could do a pack of raptors fighting over the sturgeon. ;D

Here's the sturgeon: Hopefully I'll put more effort into the arowana (last one of the fossil fish), but it's raining now, so this was the best I could do at the moment!

Really great photos. Clever idea to showcase two different model all in one creative photo!
