The first Alticamelus figure by Nabisco. This is one of my favorites.

The first Baluchitherium by Nabisco. This was all there was for a long time. I wanted a bigger one but this was all that was available. You would thing the biggest land mammal ever, would have been more popular.

You would thing the biggest land mammal ever, would have been more popular. I don't think another one came out until the Starlux one! And yet there were at least two more-or-less available Macrauchenia (the Nabisco and the MPC--3 if you count the JaRu one)!

Yes I believe the Starlux was the next one after the Nabisco. However I don't think any toy company has made a really good one yet including Collecta. It's either Resin or Fauna Cast.

Here we have the Barylambda which is about the only thing you can find from the Paleocene. You don't even hear anything about it anymore.

I have both the Faunacasts and Paleocraft Indrico. They make a nice pair. If anyone requests, I'll pose 'em together for a pic.

Sounds good, I wouldn't mind seeing them. Okay, here ya go: I haven't attached the tail yet on the resin model. The CollectA does okay as a gangly teenager.

The Paleocraft is suppose to be 1/35, and the Fauna Cast 1/40, but all three seem to be about the same size.

Its interesting to see them together- I know mine is 1/40 based on info found online- unless the info is wrong- we went over it pretty thoroughly in the dino toy line thread way back when I sculpted it- they do look to be the same size though

I have the two, and they are almost exactly the same size; the FaunaCasts is a little heavier-built, but that's about it.

I assume you're talking about the Paleocraft and the Faunacasts, as they are nearly identical in size. The CollectA has a similarly-sized head and neck, and the legs are almost as long, but the body is about half as bulky as the aforementioned two, hence my analogy to a gangly teenager that hasn't quite bulked up yet (its slightly goofy expression helps here as well). Anyway, all three have their charm and make a nice set. I just need to decide whether to paint the Paleo grey or brown; likely I will do something inbetween Lastly, is the Paleo done by Sean Cooper?

No, I have the FC and CollectA.

One of the new figures in the latter Marx Playsets was the Moschops taken from the Zallinger Mural. I believe it was the first to make this toy figure. Every one made after it including the new Fauna Cast figure all maintain the same posture. It is a classic.

Another new figure was the Parasaurolophus which had the now antiquated skin flap. Still a nice figure for its day.
