stoneage, you´re so cruel! Do you really need to show me all the painted ones I´m still missing?! I'm sure your collection is still bigger than mine. For the moment, I only have one piece and I'm expecting my second one via mail in a few weeks. I hope you don't think THAT is a huge Invicta collection...

I've all the painted water reptiles and mammals, except for the painted blue whale. And all unpainted ones.

The Invicta figures were the start of my serious collection. They are precious to me. At the moment my collection is almost complete (I do not need or want any of the painted ones, I am quite okay with the 'monochromes'). The only one I still need is the Dimetrodon, but it eludes me. (How do we not wish we bought all the models when we could a decade or two ago, however much our parents would think it irresponsible spending! )

(I do not need or want any of the painted ones, I am quite okay with the 'monochromes') That's what I keep telling myself... Here's a funny thing--to me, the current Shapeways and Acheson figures, in their single colours, are almost the inheritors of that legacy. I know that there are some brilliant painters on this forum, but I am actually quite happy to leave my figures as they are. Is part of it that I'm not a brilliant painter? Maybe, although I have tried it (I had an extra Neko Works shark--there's another one--and was pretty pleased with the result). But I am just as happy with my solid colour figures. Maybe when I get so rich I have no idea what to do with all the money (!) I'll buy lots of extras, but as things are I'm happy to leave them alone.

I must admit, I do genuinenly like the monochrome Invictas for their simplicity.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind owning some of the painted ones - just because they were officially sanctioned and amazingly rare/valuable. Typical geek thing.

Finally nabbed up a Dimetrodon on eBay this week (still waiting for it to arrive) - then I'm down to TWO, the whale and the Lambeosaurus. Then we'll see 'bout the painted ones.
Maybe.
