Maybe add on a little bit to the fourth finger? That's all I can think of

G-D Paleoferruquine - You're making me LOOK BAD!! I no longer have time to make such complicated re-sculpts, ever since I was turned out into the big bad cold world by the collapse of the bank I worked for last year, I've been working for myself - and there ain't no time off. You can't turn work away. So right now I am pretty much working 12 hours a day - or spending time with my kids. Dang I'm gonna have to find some time to (re)sculpt or I'll go mad!!. Below is a montage of the Carnegie Giga head with the head of my own 1/20 Giganotosaurus (which I suspect was the model for the head of the Carnegie Giga, as it was on my website for a few years before that one came out.) Ah, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - or maybe you won't see the resemblance. My son sure did when I held the Carnegie one next to its giant cousin!!! Anyhow, I'd like to think that at least they got the HEAD right thanks to Moi. Or maybe they just did the same research I did.

Freakin beautiful conversion, BTW.
Question, however - don't they have the toes on the wrong side of the feet? I haven't had time to look it up.

Check out the "Schleich 2010" thread for a photo of my own 1/20 Giganotosaurus (which I suspect was the model for the head of the Carnegie Giga, as it was on my website for a few years before that one came out. I just came from there and I'll have to say that is one mighty fine Giganotosaurus. The Carnegie does look a lot like it, but of course I couldn't say whether they just got the same research or what. I think I'm going to try an experiment on the Q. and put some furry filaments on this, but if they don't show up on the final version it means it didn't look good.

Do you mean should the soles face up? Yes, if you are on your stomach, then your soles of your feet face up. Shouldn't the BIG toes be on the INSIDE of the feet, not the outside? Or am I mistaken? Take a look at the photo. If you or I lay on our stomachs with our soles facing up, our big toes would be on the inside of the foot as viewed from above. I am assuming that the smaller toes curled inward over the longer ones are actually the "BIG TOES" - or am I wrong?)

Fantastic work as always. I agree that maybe the wings could be a little longer with regards to the long finger that connects the membrane. If they ever made a quetz model like this on the market I would def buy it. Cant wait to see the paint.

Well, looking at this photo, maybe I was wrong. I don't know, tomorrow I'll look some more. Something odd is going on. Other pterosaurs seem to be different. The toes curl downward on some pictures. Odd.

Although I'm not sure you should add more 'fur', it wouldn't be so visible in such a large animal

Amazing, job Paleoferrique! I'm being to get a serious case of "can't get that figure depression" over that Hatzegopteryx!

Fantastic work as always. I agree that maybe the wings could be a little longer with regards to the long finger that connects the membrane. If they ever made a quetz model like this on the market I would def buy it. Cant wait to see the paint. Well, according to Witton and Naish I calculated that 3/8in to each side would be added to this figure, might do it. They don't have the real long wingspan that was originally claimed. But the proportions are better now since I cut 1/2in out of the body to shorten it. I still haven't figured out what's with the feet. That skeleton above shows it the same as the Schleich figure some others have the foot rotated 180 degrees with the first digit now on the inside but the toes facing downwards There's something strange with the pelvic joint and the bones of the leg, they seem constructed more like human shoulders and arms. Well I'm not going to worry about it. What I was thinking about the fur was like Mark Witton has on his art, almost a thin mane. Like this: One more thing. I just noticed that on the Schleich figure that the wing is not fully extended but is partially flexed so each wing is about 3/8in shorter. So, fully in flexion would give a longer wingspan. Problem solved ;D

Wow, I think it looks dang good! ;D
Is it just the way I'm seeing it, or, according to that skeleton in that pic, does the head look smaller than on the model? And, the wing span to me also looks a tad short even if the arms are slightly pulled in. I think what makes them look fully extended is that the membranes look fully stretched out. The "thumb" positions on the feet are also a little confusing for me too.
But, boy, does he look way better! Also can't wait to see your ideas for the paint job. ;D

Also can't wait to see your ideas for the paint job. ;D That's just perspective,if you notice the legs look almost as long as the wings. The membranes are probably pretty elastic also. Here's what I used for the proportions. This is Quetzalcoatlus which is smaller than Hatzegopteryx. Guess work on the length of the skull of H. is 3 meters. This model's head measures out at 3in which is scale 10ft vs. 9.75ft for a 3 meter head. But I think the arms are too long in proportion to the long 4th digit, that's why the wings look too short. But I'm not going to mess with it (famous last words )
