For personal reasons, I am limiting my interactions on this forum and will no longer post any repaint material in this thread. I will continue to post collections as I finish painting them, like the armored dinos. I will still pm various people links when I do new ones. Especially the commissions I have outstanding, but with extremely few exceptions, I will no longer accept those either, To much hassle, too much bad feelings. Us thieves. you know...unreliable anyway, and since it turns out I really underestimated the idea of "friends" on the forum, it doesn't really matter much anyway, right? Go make fun of someone else's work, all of you. I will be busy with Susan and her medical needs for the next month or two anyway, so now there is that much less to incringe on my mind. Really, I wasn't having any fun here anyway.

Generally though, I apologize for having blemished any of your precious plastic bits and pieces. I am rightfully sorry I even dared look at a battat, incredibly apologetic that I got most without having to buy them, and then ruined them.
My bad. Shoulda just given them away to y'all, sorry for that. I am REALLY sorry that I have enough skill in my pathetic, small little hands that I can take my documentation of a commissioned piece, and recreate it down to the last dot, that paint on a new piece. Very sorry I have skills, and really sorry I rubbed in all of your faces like that, it was insensitive of me. I know, the package never came, but that was supposed to be all sorted. I mentioned my intent was to recreate the paint as closely as I could for my wife. I told you. So, sorry for my shameful ability to do so. Rest assured, I am near done with any of this nonsense. I will of course apply my pathetic and shameful talents to finishing the commissions from Kuni, Deanm and mighyjptrex. They deserve to know that. I guess its a good thing I never got anything rare or valuable to steal, huh? Like a MIB battat carnotaurus, or a battat mini ceratosaurus, or a nice condition Battat ouranosaurus or the mini twin, or heaven forbid a bully mastodonsauruses. Lucky all I had my hands on was a itty little 20 dollar commonly available hadrosaur. we all know, I just sooo covet those.

Anyway, i degress, yall, and you know who you are, can bite me. And thanks for sharing all of that love and warmth, it was treasurable, really.

Most of us on here still have a (n admittedly fragile) grip on our sanity and appreciate your repaints. They're imaginative and rather striking. They're just plastic dinosaurs! Stay on and continue to entertain us with your designs! Please.

Hmmm ... I seem to recall a similar posting after the little Battat kerfluffle a few months back.

Kevin, most of us do appreciate seeing the fruits of your talent, I don't know anything about the other references, but I hope that after a little break away to take care of Susan (and not lose your sanity trying to do too much at once), you'll consider coming back.

I have particularly enjoyed your work of late.

I am not leaving the forum, but i am not bothering with the repaint board anymore, either. Personally, I will gather up bits at a time and take a group shot for the collection board now and then. I know, mine are not pristine as is anymore, but I figure it is a collection now, not some random repaints. But, no, I will not post individual walk ararounds here anymore. Just not happening. Everytime my feelings get hurt, yes I pull back, so no more. I will just maintain a distance and save myself the trouble. I do have personal relationships with one or two persons here, that will not change. I am just tired of all the negativity that seems to permeate the threads, and I really am offended that anyone would think I would steal from them. Especially as that would completely ruin any future trade chances. But, the best way to avoid this in the future is to just keep my work to my d**n self, ya?

I'm glad to hear that you are not leaving the forum, it's been a pleasure having you around and seeing what creations you just finished.
But I do understand how you feel about the negativity sometimes, god knows I had my fair share of them. And yes, sometimes taking a hiatus from the forum goes a long ways in healing any hurt feelings.
It's hard to read some negative comments about something that you have worked so hard on, but that is the risk we take when we show our art... It's also the reason that I have indefinitely delayed any of my completed collection series and other threads I have planed on posting. Just not up for taking wise @#% comments

Woah. What the hell happened? Did I miss some big argument? Kev, who specifically is giving you such grief about your repaints and what exactly did they say? They are plastic dinosaur toys. Even the rarest of the rare isn't really worth much at all in the grand scheme of things. Its certainly not worth what you are saying you are gonna do. I loved looking at all your repainted figures. They are amongst the best I have ever seen on here.

Most everyone on here who posts photos of customs, paintjobs, drawings, dioramas has found themselves ferociously defending their work against opposing opinions at least once. I know I have had my fair share of verbal brawls against a number of folks on here in the name of my artwork. The important thing is to keep in mind that nobody on here has a more important opinion than anyone else. Read my interview with George Blasing I actually go into this a little bit at the end.

You should still post photos of your paintjobs. Its not enough just squinting at them in your collection photos. (cough krentz corythosaurus cough)

It is not the negative comments. It is the fact that I have been accused of ripping off that same corytho, due to me having painted it jusst ecactly as the one that was lost. It was painstaking work, with pics of the original printed out by my side, and a large supply of toothpicks. I even mentioned I was doing this, for Susan. I guess the issue then is whether one believes I am physically and artisticly apable of doing this. Obviously, the answer is no. I am very hurt, and confused, as I thought this issue had been resolved. The bright side is USan got pissed to, and gave me free reign to repaint the cory however I want, so yay. I thought this customer saw me as a friend, and to find out he feels I would jeapardize everything I have here just really.....really....I don't even have words, I am that hurt.

Kevin, Dinosaur forums are FULL of immature little brats. I should know, as I am such one immature little brat. What you need to do is ignore what they say, and continue with your beautiful craft. It's not like they can do any better, besides they're just jealous because they can't paint, and because they got no Battats.

There are at least a half dozen onhere who are far more than just user names to me ( if you got a card for X-Mas, then you know who you are ), and others I hope are. I mean, yea, some are just names, but not most, to me anyway

I repeat, its mainly some other issue, not the critics, but apparently while I was wrapped up in this something larger and nastier--gnatrlier?-- was going on....

So, in light of that, I guess I will stop whining here. I would like to deal with this via pm, if that person is interested. Otherwise, this is the last I think I will speak of it. Sorry, I was hurt by some things, and no, I am not really over it, but I guess we are having too much interpersonal drama here. Soooo, ok. I will think about it.

WHOA!!!:oMajor sad face! Man, I will miss your lovely repaints. Like you said, they are just bits of plastic and they are usually better and more realistic than their 'commercial' counterparts, no matter how 'sacred'. But you are always welcome to PM them to me if you want so I still have something to marvel at.

um. I'm not really sure if my opinion matters much here, but I'll give it anyway.

teton, your repaints are truly works of art. (I have three of them, and I love them all. I was hoping to get another from you relatively soon, but I guess my luck ran out :/ )
the small art community I belong to outside this forum is even more drama filled than this place, full of cutthroat art thieves and immature morons. I have had my fair share of accusations, copies, thievings, rip offs, fights, you name it. but that's kind of what happens when you get on the internet. you can't expect to get along with everyone online, even if you share a common interest. that's not to say that said person you argue with is wrong, or that you are. but drama on the internet is completely unavoidable. it comes with the territory.

but I digress. your repaints truly are wonderful, and I'm confident in saying that pretty much all of us on this forum likes them. yes, even the person that claims you kept their dino. I mean, they wanted it for a reason right? but I don't want to stir that up again, I'm just trying to make a point.

if you choose to stop posting your art here, that is your decision. but I promise you all of us will miss seeing it, and that's really sad to me. us being able to see your art is definitely a privilege, so I guess we really have no right to complain if you take it away. it's your gift to us that we can see.

I dunno. imo, just cause one person is accusing you of something you didn't do doesn't mean you have to not share your repaints. the solution to that problem if I were in your situation, is just try and fix it as much as you can but then just don't do any trades or commissions with that person anymore. don't punish the rest of us....

sorry for being all emo, but this is really saddening to me. I'm going to go sit in the corner for a while now.
