All of them have 1988 on them, there is a substantial difference in height and weight of all of the Carnegie sauropods when comparing the original release grey vinyl with the new colored vinyl ones

Yes, both of my Carnegie Brachis have 1988 on the stamp. But they are both grey, not the current green colour pattern. The bigger and presumably older one also seems to have several molding problems which might explain why a new version from another mold became necessary. It seems that not only the sauropods are affected - I've read about a thread somewhere here where the different versions of the 10th Anniversary T-rex were discussed and I also received an older paint version of the Pachycephalosaurus which is about 5 mm higher than the newer one. Could it be that before abandoning a mold they make a resin cast, then enhance the details and then make a new mold from that - which would explain that the newer versions are somewhat smaller due to shrinkage of the resin material? But then I think a linear shrinkage of 5% or even more is a bit much for resin.
