Wow, that's freaky Boki. I've just come back from Spain with a Chap Mei Mammoth fresh off the shelf. I think it may be my favorite mammoth figure

Quick question: Exactly how rare is the Bullyland Mastodon Gomphotherium (not Mastodonsaurus)? In my opinion, very rare. I'd say even more difficult to find than Deinotherium, although less expensive. I´ve seen a few Deinos in EBay, of course all above 80 USD, in the past months, but only one Gompho.

It can also be a great part of an ice age diorama. Here it is with some fellows:

It kinda reminds me of the Aurora Mammoth I had as a kid which is why I like it Does yours do anything Boki? I've had two of these pass through my hands which seem to have some form of non working electronic mechanism (there is a battery compartment but adding batteries has done nothing with either!). Just curious to know whether the head moves or it makes a sound The packaging on mine makes no reference to any electronic effect!

I have one, and I've known other people that had them, and they all have the compartment, but none of them actually make sounds. I knew at least one person that completely disassembled theirs, and there was nothing in there. I am guessing that there was a sound-making one once, but when Chap Mei got the molds they didn't use any of the electronics.

Yeah, I have sold a few gomphotheriums in the past and did not even keep one for myself. I think because it really is not an attractive figure at all. But, yes, they sold for nominal amounts each time I sold one. Perhaps worth maybe $30, or maybe more now that some extra time has past......

I guess no Gomph for me, unless another company decides to make their own rendition of it.

It would be rather cool if WS or Bullyland did a Platybelodon sculpt, at some point.

And it is quite obscure so I would hang onto it if I were you. Unfortunately I don't see many extinct mammals being released this year. Hopefully there will be some announced as the year progresses however.

Hopefully there will be some announced as the year progresses however. let's hope, i don't know why they haven't gone into mammals and pre dinosaurs. i have a pretty big collection of books on prehistoric life and in each book their are certain animals that always pop up: Eryops, Moropus, Teleoceras... after the Pleistocene, the Miocene is like a gold mine of prehistoric mammals (I have fallen in love with the Miocene) ya know! i really wanna make a lot of large sized prehistoric reconstructions with toys and outside of the Mesozoic (and to a lesser degree the Pleistocene) things are a little dry grrr gimme mammals!
