Hello all, As some of you may know, I have been commissioned by a museum to sculpt a whale evolution series. Here is the first of those models: Dorudon atrox. I will be moulding it next week, and it will be available through my website very soon (as soon as I decide what I will do for a base!). I have not yet determined the price, but expect to see it on my site within the next week or so. Let me know what you think! Also, more photos will be forthcoming. Thanks, Jonathan Rader RaderStudios www.raderstudios.com

And even the Basilosaurus and Blue whale will appear at this scale?

And even the Basilosaurus and Blue whale will appear at this scale? Indeed they will! I'm not sure yet if the large mysticetes will be reproduced, but I promise that the Basilosaurus will be. -Jon P.S. Look for the Basilosaurus release sometime in June!

A 1/20 blue whale...This will be over a meter long, will it not? Yes, in fact the plan is to sculpt a large individual.... representing a 32 meter long animal. The model will be 1.6 meters long! I still don't know if I will be moulding this one (it would be EXPENSIVE). I may simply be sculpting a one-of-a-kind out of foam, skinned with fiberglass. The smaller whales, though, will be moulded and cast. The list includes: Dorudon (obviously), Basilosaurus, Remingtonocetus, Pakicetus, Ambulocetus, an orca, a humpback whale, a southern right whale, a blue whale, and possibly a minke whale. -Jon

Would you consider doing an Obodenoceratops? Or something like that. The spelling escapes me. Anyways, it was the strange whale thing from Sea Monsters that had one massive tooth like a narwhal but it was poking out like normal teeth, and the Megalodon were hunting it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have downloaded the original publications of Odobenocetops, and I will look into whether there is enough of it for me to do a reconstruction. I will get back to you on this! Cheers, Jon
