Just heard from Peter Leung of CollectA/Procn re: Rhomaleosaurus figure. According to him, the mold has to be redone due to some new latest fossil information they just received from the UK. Maybe Adam sent them info ;D Anyway, it looks like this figure is still a go for 2010, but much later, in September. It would be interesting to see how different it looks from the original prototype. And more importantly--who now has the original prototype? Keep your eyes open, it's destined to appear sooner or later. I would guess Randy or Mike, yes? I doubt that they will be selling it anytime soon, but you never know

This is what you can do with this guy ;D A closer look... Nice, eh? See, this pose works with a dead prey in front of it ;D

Would had to have broken its arm to lean on its hand like that in reality, mind...

What is the dead dinosaur? Looks like a parasaurolophus of some sort. I'm not sure of the company but it looks japanese in origin.

So, is that the actual colour of the figure, Boki? Orange head?

You are right, it is a para and its' from the Yujin battle set (comes with T-rex I think). I tried to "hide" the head, you know, before I hear "they are not from the same era, continent, etc." lecture ;D

So, is that the actual colour of the figure, Boki? Orange head? Yes. Now, they are all hand painted so there may be some slight variations.

Tony Beeson probably took it with him! Ah, interesting. Peter from CollectA sent me a picture of the new prototype and so far it looks good. I compared it to the illustration that Adam has up on his site, so far so good. He never did return my email about me sharing the pics, so I won't. It would be interesting to see what Dr. A has to say about it.

Does anyone own the first version of the Oviraptor? The one without a base and with lower wing. I was wondering if that version ever got released, or did they just release the one with a base. I want the original. Dan, what versions do you have for sale?

They sent me the version with the base, and I'm not sure if a baseless version even exists. Seems like it would be hard to make it balance without one.
I did get the naughty version of the Tsintao, though. That was a surprise.

Yah, balance was the main concern and issue with the baseless version. As far as the naughty version of Tsintao... you mean there is another version? X rated? ;D ;D ;D Sorry, can't help myself! ;D No, what version you talking about ;D

Yeah, someone posted photos of a "castrated" version, but I received the same version shown in the blog review.
Urzeitshop in Germany is showing the based version of the Oviraptor too, though. Do you know for sure it was released without a base somewhere? I suspect it was just baseless for the stock photo.

It's almost confusing how variable the quality amongst these figures is! But I bought some of these new ones: Herrerasaurus, Camptosaurus, Minmi, Rugops and the Afrovenator. Also the Tsintaosaurus for making me laugh ;-). Hopefully the Jobaria and Velociraptor will be added to the flock in the near future.
Must say that the Herrerasaurus does look a lot better irl than on the picture. Guess that's because it's so tiny - the evil green eyes aren't as prominent as you would think. I like this tiny fellow :-).

Haven't seen it yet in a shop, but the pictures in the review + the review itself, were quite convincing. I already bought the Olorotitan, that's a beauty . But on the Augustina I'm not sure.... the head is so cartoonish..... i don't think this one will be it for me..!

The rugops and afrovenator are okay figures, but they are very small (not much bigger than the safari scuto). They could be about a dollar cheaper each, but they are nice enough.

I think I'll just wait until Safari gets around to making those..might be awhile but the size and detail should be better.
