These five miniatures are all ACEO size at 3.5 x 2.5 inches. So once again, these views are much bigger than the originals. They were made as gifts for the attendees of the DTF meet-up in London. Protoceratops for Lea (Mnemosaurus). Attenborosaurus for Dr. Adam. I think it was met with approval. ;D Allosaurus for Rob (Crackington). Brachiosaurus for Andrew (Dinolord). Tyrannosaurus for Marc (Horridus).

Those are all as gorgeous as I expected! But I think it's a bit funny how the pictures are bigger than the actual thing.

I post these larger on screen to compensate for not being able to hold the real things up close to examine them. I had to do them small, otherwise I'd never have finished them. Each of these tiny pieces took me around three hours to do, believe it or not. ;D Besides, ACEOs seem to me the ideal size for a small gift. So yes, do join us one day... ;D

You're very welcome, Rob. I hope there will be another meet-up in future, Neovenator. Perhaps you will manage it next time.

They are all gorgeous! I especially love the Protoceratops It's a thing of beauty and exceptional cuteness! I really like the way it scratches it's face and has it's eye closed. It's like it just woke up from a nap and it's still a bit drowsy. I am extremely happy with it!!

Thank you all! Chris K, I'm reeling from astonishment. ;D Here is the real secret to these tiny pieces (no secret at all, in fact). I mostly draw with brushes these days (Andrew's Brachiosaurus for instance was entirely drawn with them), and these three very fine Chinese brushes are my staple for ink drawings. I've photographed them with a penny (same size as a US cent) and a standard size paperclip for some idea of scale. The one on the right may look comparatively large among the trio, but it comes to a very fine point.

Man I wish I had those while painting the eyes on those anime model kits I did...talk about SO much easier. The quality of materials and tools you have def increase what your able to achieve artistically.

These may not be best suited for model-painting, though I daresay one could try! These Chinese brushes have quite long bristles which are perfect for carrying plenty of ink (which of course is what they're precisely made for traditionally) and other liquid media whilst still retaining a fine point, but that very aspect might shorten their lives if used with acrylics or enamels as they will clog rather easily. You can get quality sables for acrylics in most good art materials or craft stores. Those can be extremely fine too but will have much, much shorter bristles.

Awww, that's nice of you! I'm sad I wasn't there. I'm sad I couldn't make it too. I recently bought 'Dinosaurs a field guide' and without blowing your trumpet too loudly Niroot, I personally think there would be improvement if you had some illustrations in it.

That's so kind of you, BR (please forgive me, I don't yet know your name), thank you. Perhaps another time in another book I might have that opportunity. I think the Field Guide feels most complete as Greg Paul's work alone, particularly as he undertook such an enormous task in producing it; besides the fact that I'm still highly ill-qualified (or at least still a nobody in the palaeo-world ;D) to have contributed to something of this kind.

Something I've unearthed from several years ago. For a larger view (recommended -- it enlarges twice) and some background nonsense, please visit its dA page. Merci beaucoup.
