Still no consensus on the orientation of the hands of hadrosaurs though I suppose ? I don't imagine so. Most people still depict them pronated and I'm still doing my 'neutral but diagonally turned towards pronated position' thing (basically adopting the iguanodontian and ceratopsian models) with no criticism thus far.

Love the race sketches, and of course I absolutely love the saurolophus! It's so good to see them doing something beside standing stupidly around until someone comes up and eats them... ;D

They should make up their mind already. Modern quadrupedal archosaurs walk with non pronated forelimbs. What else do they need?

My submission for the Hadrosaur Symposium art request. With a little indulgence on my part, as you see (more about that in due course). ¬_¬ This was completed before I discovered the fact about the forefeet claws. There is an updated version which I will post later. I also failed to make the Tarbo look terribly different from a T.rex, but as I say: tyrannosaurids, bah. Besides, some people think they belong to the same genus anyway, right? Oh, and I forgot to reply earlier: The Tarbos are getting better and better! be careful you dont make those eyebrows too JP like though... Making anything JP-like is the last thing I want, in fact. ;D I was trying to be a little less conservative about facial features so added more projecting bits. But narrow ovate shapes will look triangular when foreshortened, so perhaps it wasn't a great idea -- if only to prevent any JP resemblance being inferred.

[They should make up their mind already. Modern quadrupedal archosaurs walk with non pronated forelimbs. What else do they need? True, although the forelimbs are also sprawling! True, although they are capable of a high walk and can gallop at 11 mph (17 km/h) And sauropods walk "pronated" and the Ornithischia are a mixed lot with Thyreophora and most Ornithopoda "pronated" . The quotes I put there are because like sauropods they are actually non pronated, that is the radius and ulna are parallel , the radius doesn't cross over as in mammals. Their hand bones are arraigned however to bring the palms facing rearward. So they have pronated hands but couldn't pronate them. Iguanodon has the palms facing each other however as shown with trackways. So basically archosaurs are all non pronated but some are functionally pronated. Ack, forgot why I started the comment I really love this piece, of course all your stuff is so good.

Fantastic expressions detail color everything!
(And I love that little guy on the Protoceratops - may I call him Hubert? He looks like a Hubert.... Is he a relative of your fishing renaissance knight?)

Great work, I almost missed that protoceratops down there. I love the fuzzy tyrannosaur and I don't think it looks "JPish" at all.

(And I love that little guy on the Protoceratops - may I call him Hubert? He looks like a Hubert.... Is he a relative of your fishing renaissance knight?) Quite possibly! He says his name is Hieronymus, but you may call him 'Hubert' if it pleases. ;D I'm glad a few people like him. As I say, there's more concerning his presence, which I'll post about later.

Amazing. You convey such emotion in your "subjects". I know that's a real challenge. Good luck in the contest!

Thank you Curt and Mat! I posted a little more about this piece here (might as well take the opportunity to mention the new blog... -_- ), including the version which eventually made the final round.

Oh, I 've forgotten to congratulate you on your new blog! It's a shame Hubertonymus didn't make the cut, but oh well - the tarbo and oloro are gorgeous on their own too. Very curious about that secret you were hinting about... ;D

Thank you, Ingunn! Yes, it is rather a shame about Hubertonymus (and now he even sounds like a dinosaur ;D). Oh, well.

I'm not sure what I think of this one, but hey ho... Perhaps I should open it up to caption suggestions. The best contributor gets a bean bun.

Already saw them in your blog few days ago. I was wondering why you were taking so much time to show them here or in Da....But I don´t understand your doubts. They look really great, as usual. I like a lot those crests, and also the fact that youre putting more attention to details like the feathered fingers. Great. Will you paint those?
