I received the Phat Tapir a few days ago. Tapirs are my favorite extant land mammal, and the Phat one does this animal the most justice of any replica so far, IMO. The Baird's tapir is my favorite tapir species, which sadly gets very little attention as far as replicas go.

Really nice pictures! What is that rock surface, you used on some of them?

Don't know if this beauty has been covered yet.. The Hunter Dan Bill elk, almost 10" long. Probably the best plastic elk out there, IMO. These pictures don't really do him justice.

Sorry, I don't know of any UK sellers but I think there might be some ebay sellers in the US who ship to the UK. I have the whitetail from the same series and it is decent, better than safaris deer. When I bought it there were no other animals available and I never checked back since. The pronghorn looks like the second best in the series, at least in the catalog pic: And the bear doesn't look too bad either: The muley looks similar quality to the whitetail, not outstanding, but decent enough. I beleive all their animals are 1:9 scale. My favorite thing about the elk is that his legs are nice and thin, something they probably got away with only because he is such a big figure.

I found one eBay seller from the US, but the shipping charges are ludicrous. And another seller whose negative feedback was high enough to give cause for concern...

If you like domestic animal figures, I still think that there has been no better done as far as sculpting style and quality than the vintage Marx farm animals- unlike their dinosaurs which are known for their rough unrealistic style- the vintage sculpts of their horses and cows, etc. for their 50's 60's era farm sets are really nice with great details- they had a run of 'Prize Winning' farm animals that included the simply fabulous Clydsdale horse, still one of my all time favorite plastic figures of any kind-

Oh, that's funny! I went to look up this "fabulous clydesdale" of yours only to find out that I have one! I picked up an unusually decent looking "cheap little plastic horse" at a thrift store last month and had no idea it was a marx.

Pictured with a quarter. The head is off but the body is very nicely done.

Thank you!
It is lovely. I agree about the head too. Though I also think the feet are not feathery enough for a Clydesdale. But a lovely figure nonetheless. I think it might pass for a Percheron, in fact, with the correct paint job.
