Thank you, Fox. I think you've encapsulated beautifully (in both of your recent posts) what most of us would have wished to express when our heads are at their clearest. And I thank Thelordsgym for your concession to address your tone and attitude. It's generous of you and I'm sure we all appreciate it a great deal.

Not quite Sean, Check out Stoneages idea of what kind of a creature we were before....he stated when we were primates. That does imply evolution, wouldn't you agree? I don't want to get into hot water over this again...but it's not a case of when we WERE primates, as we still ARE primates according to taxonomy (order Primates), unless you think we aren't related to other great apes, which would make sense if you think the theory of evolution is invalid.

Good question. I disagree first of all because I don't believe we ever evolved from anything. I believe we were created for a reason and that all life has adaptive traits. That includes to the environment, as well as any of the stimuli and things we put into our bodies. As far as there being vestigual organs, I don't buy that either. I have talked with people personnally who have had their appendix out and they get sick much more often than they used to among other things. The appendix as far as I can observe is a helper to our immune system, and people who have them removed...for obvious reasons....are more prone to catching things they might not have in the past. Sorry Stoneage, I don't buy anything that evolution teaches. Small changes happen, but just because the majority believes in that stuff like macro-evolution because it it taught doesn't mean that I do. I have a bachelors degree in college as well and have also done a plethora of research, and have concluded that there is a ton of brainwashing going on. People just can't seem to think for themselves. They believe it just because the majority does. There is always another side of the story that is not being taught, and I am not talking about religion either..... Although I am also not an athiest, obviously. I don't think these theories would hold up in a court of law and therefore there is no real proof that can be validated beyond a reasonable doubt. By the way, sorry if I offended anyone. I am just here to collect toys and models, it just hurts me to hear all of this being taught all the time, and no one gets to hear the other side. It should be known that not all of us believe that way. Two small asides--I have my appendix out, and only occasionally get sick; certainly no more than my wife, who has hers (same goes for tonsils). Second, Evolution by Natural Selection (with modifications to account for what has been learned regarding genetics) has stood up in courts of law before as a reasonable, testable theory put forward to explain phenomena in a non-supernatural form. If a testable theory comes forward that is better able to explain the diversity of life, it will find an audience over time. And not to be confrontational--but you did bring up that you don't believe it; until then, no one was discussing anything to do with evolution, just discussing what the seemingly un-needed structures might be for. quote Not quite Sean, Check out Stoneages idea of what kind of a creature we were before....he stated when we were primates. That does imply evolution, wouldn't you agree? Again, sorry for opening this can friend. Well, there are semantic arguments (you asked what it's for; he referred to the original use in related forms, you don't agree with all of his statement...etc etc ad nauseum). Nonetheless (and I have to put the Moderator's hat on here) I appreciate that we have been able to maintain a civil discourse here; however, it has severely detoured the original thread, so I have to ask that all further posts be restricted to the "What Dino are You?" topic. And if somebody really wants to open this discussion a) open it in the Member's only board; b) keep it civil (disagreement is not the same as non-civility); and c) are you crazy? ;D

*LOL*
Personally I think that this board would be a strange place for this type of discussion, but if the Mods allow it ...

*LOL* Personally I think that this board would be a strange place for this type of discussion, but if the Mods allow it ... Well, like I said--if it is civil and in a different part of the forum (Member's only). People don't have to take part. Also, I didn't just imply it would be crazy...

I agree with Sbell, the thread has gone off topic. The evolution topic is welcome to be continued in the general section of the forum, just not here. Thanks all

Wow. I actually started a whole debate with a simple metaphorical question. Oh well. Himma, when do you think the next drawing will be up? I'm sure you'll do the Utahraptors.

Who to be drawn next? I'm not sure. I appear to have lost morale altogether after our recent debacle. I was going to continue in the order in which people posted, but I'm suddenly dispirited. I had hoped that my reply at the top of this page was a gentle nudge to get us back on track without declaring it in obvious terms. Though perhaps it was too subtle. What? I can do lofty too, you know. ;D *folds arms* I hear it's terribly fashionable in internetland. ;D A joke. I jest! ;D ;D ;D I just wanted to try what it was like playing at being stroppy online. Uh, where were we? Ah, yes... Hmm, perhaps I might do the Utahraptors next. Dromaeosaurs are fun to draw and I may need the boost. ;D On the other hand, I'm also sorely tempted to draw the dancing tyrannosaurs, which might give us a much-needed chuckle. ;D Laugh, folks. This thread is meant to be fun.

Niroot, I've been dumb enough to not checking all the pages on this thread and didn't realize you have posted some new art.
It's an absolute delight to watch your work.

Thank you so much to you both! I still very much plan to draw the others, though I crave your patience if they're a while in coming. I find I'm about to become busy again with work.

Gaîté Parisienne tyrannosaurs. ;D These aren't anybody (though don't tempt me ), but Marc's idea of a chorus line of tyrannosaurs was too irresistible and I wanted a laugh. ;D The original is tiny: 130 x 63mm (5.1/8 x 2.5 inches). It will be a considerable while before I get to do more, so please enjoy (or not ;D).

THAT is simply bloody MARVELLOUS. I'm printing it off right now. By the way, you should have named people. Anyone who delcares themselves to be worthy of The Great Tyrannnosaurus rex deserves taking down a peg. Also, if you do ever get around to me, I now demand to be a dromaeosaur of some sort (Deinonychus I think I mentioned before) in full Victorian clobber! Oh yes! ;D

He knows I have the greatest respect and admiration for him. ;D THAT is simply bloody MARVELLOUS. I'm printing it off right now. By the way, you should have named people. Also, if you do ever get around to me, I now demand to be a dromaeosaur of some sort (Deinonychus I think I mentioned before) in full Victorian clobber! Oh yes! ;D Thank you, Marc! The 'taking down a peg' reason is extremely persuasive, I must say. ;D But I won't -- at least not for now -- and let people have their fun. ;D Oh, I shall certainly get around to you eventually, and you will be a Deinonychus, rest assured. You've given me an alternative idea with your Victorian suggestion... I'll say no more for now, or it will be too spoiled. ;D By the way, I've replaced the dancing rexes with a smaller image as I was too indecisive about how enlarged a view I should choose (as the original is so small), in case anyone is wondering why the version quoted by Sbell is larger. Oh, and another tentative postcript, since Marc mentioned printing this out: without at all wishing to embarrass anyone or indeed myself, these drawings are fine if anyone wants to keep them for yourselves without re-distributing them, as they're not officially published work... Though it would be wonderful of you if you could perhaps ask before you do... Pardon et merci. ;D

I, uh, don't find anything odd or peculiar in dressing up dinosaurs or or other critters for that matter. If I ever get a hold of that raccoon in my yard it's a top hat, sunglasses and spats for him!! ;D Hoo yah!!

What is this obsession the British have, for putting cloths on Dinosaurs? Is it their sense of humor? Must be. "You...smell...SCRUMPTIOUS!" (Sadly this year Darwin's old voice track was replaced with one that sounded a bit more fun and wacky and less like a sinister old pervert. They did repair his animatronics as well though, so every cloud...)
