Dinosaur toys are a very specific market and probably don't make sellers a fortune unless released alongside a Blockbuster movie. In this regard it is sensible that sellers would prefer to go the web route and serve a potentially worldwide audience. Dinosaur museums are the exception because they are tourist attractions as well as shops - many (I would say the majority of) dinosaurs are sold as souvenirs to people who would not usually buy/want rubber dinosaurs, or for little Sammy to play in the sand pit. There is another element to it--time. A line like Carnegie has spent close to 20 years getting its name recognized; not everything has been great, but it has been there. The funny issue is that Carnegie figures have become harder to find relative to say, Schleich or Papo because those companies are quite aggressive in their sales. So yes, museums are the place to find most lines--plus the online world has opened every store to everyone.

Except Healthstone Hobbies to me - they no longer ship overseas I have yet to find something there that can't be found elsewhere (well, some models and statues, but I don't collect those). My personal favourite is still tgftoys.com, especially now that they are getting the Procon dinos (which means that they can fulfill my 2008 wants list almost entirely, save for the new Wild Republic marine reptiles--anyone know when those are being released?

Yes you are right - pretty much everything can be found on the web somewhere. I've been chasing the 'favorite' plesiosaurus for a long while tgftoys don't seem to stock 'em. But It recently became available here: www.dinosaurtime.co.uk/. It has a good selection (I'm wondering if it is a UK branch of Healthstones?). The only thing is that you must pay with paypal, but that's OK.

Lol Schleich? I have never seen Schleich around except for the basic mini Schelichs at Target. And I found my other Schleichs out of sheer insane luck.

Now I understand your signature Tomhet. It's a poem by Georg Trakl, for me the best German-speaking poet of the first half of the 20th century

^^^ In a way, yes. It's kind of difficult to explain, so I won't go into that right now. I mean, we would derail this thread.
