Awesome! Finally, a detailed model of a sauropod that is part of a small, scaled series!! The only other one that I know of right now is the 1/72 Jobaria, since the Krentz 1/72 Apatosaur is seemingly out of production, at least for now.
I would very definitely buy a couple Diplodocus models if they did come on the market, David! And would still love to see that Apatosaurus come back on the market if you can work out a way to do it.
Add me to the chorus of fans here! Your work's wonderful, and greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I had to order one on the spot, too. That model seems to be a lot larger than his previous shapeways models. So totoro's comparison with the Antediluvia Jobaria makes sense, the Jobaria is 90 mm high, the Alamosaurus 96 mm. For the given dimensions, the price seems absolutely reasonable!

Does anyone know if the "Transparent Detail" figures are flexible like rubber? I would really like to know.

Krentz, I think I may have asked this before, but is there any reason you could not create a single large scale shapeways figure to be used as a master, and make all future copies of resin? Would that be cheaper or about the same?

I like the transparency but you have to be really careful with these. Once my transparent Tyrannosaurus fell to one side and broke a finger - this probably would not have happened had it been "White, Strong & Flexible".

Does anyone know how big these figures can go? I'm guessing the size is determined by Krentz? It'd be nice to have these at 1/72. They'd fit nicely with his Antediluvia series at 1/72.

You know I always thought all his new figures like these " minis " were part of that series..I could def be wrong though. :/

Hey all.
The reason I'm not making master casts of these right now for resin castings is that I just don't have the time. At moment Shapeways does all the work for me. Its really nice. Heck, I still owe Dan from Dan's dinosaurs a list of my Antediluvia Collection so he can take the the work of packing and shipping of those off my hands! I'd rather make them than deal with all the other stuff.
As I've mentioned before, these will be pewter models sold as a set as well. These are the new Microsaurs. I have made bases for them for pewter. Pewter can bend in casting and I don't think they will always stand up by themselves as the machine produced versions. I really don't want to be the guy who makes the figures that always fall over on your shelf.
If anyone has had errors with Shapeways figures let me know. I just received some Black Detail ones that had to be scrubbed to get the 'soft gel' off of them.

If anyone has had errors with Shapeways figures let me know. I just received some Black Detail ones that had to be scrubbed to get the 'soft gel' off of them. D I wouldn't say this soft gel excess really is a problem. It's something that's easy to fix, you just have to be aware it's there. I had it on all figures I bought in "Transparent Detail" (I have your Tyrannosaurus, Edmontosaurus, and Ankylosaurus in this material) and initially the excess material obscured many details but the models are perfect after removing that. Keep 'em coming, I hope every now and then you surprise us with a new addition to your mini line!
