First question: What are the odds that the BBC will make a Walking with Dinosaurs 2? I really wish they would! Secondly, if you were in charge of making a WWD 2, where, when, and what would you feature? This is what I'd do (with some disregard for time and place I'm sure): Late Triassic: Argentina: Herrerasaurus, Eoraptor, Pisanosaurus, that beaked herbivorous synapsid thing (rhyconosaurus ), Saurosuchus, and a phytosaur Early Jurassic: S. Africa: Crylophosaurus, Zupaysaurus, Massospondylus, Megapnosaurus, Eudimorphodon, and Heterodontosaurus Late Jurassic: Central Africa: Brachiosaurus/Girraffatitan, Ceratosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Pterodactylus, and some other stuff... Early Cretaceous: China: Sinornithosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Psittacosaurus, Biepiaosaurus, Confuciousornis, and that big dinosaur-eating mammal Mid Cretaceous: N. Africa: Spinosaurus, Suchomimus, Kaprosuchus, Ouranosaurus, Rugops, unnamed pterosaur, Sarcosuchus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Nigerosaurus. Late Cretaceous: Alberta: Albertosaurus, Hesperonychus, Maiasaurus, Centrosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, and lots more What are your ideas?

Well...there was that Big Al special and the Nigel Marven specials...
And then there's that new movie being made...
In addition, I think some of the genera you mentioned featured in the hilarious Prehistoric Park.

let's see, I agree with the Triassic one, I would also do early Jurassic North America featuring Dilophosaurus and a few others
Mid-Jurassic Europe with megalosaurus, cetiosaurus, etc.
Early Cretaceous Oklahoma featuring acrocanthosaurus, deinonychus, tenontosaurus, and sauroposeidon
mid-Cretaceous North Africa as you said
finally late Cretaceous South America with carnotaurus and titanosaurs

Hum... I would like a lot to see the South America Triassic too. Maybe Early Createous of Brasil ;D Would be awesome to see those huge and strange pterosaurs of Santana Formation, Santanaraptor, Irritator...
China would be great too.

That all sounds great except for one thing..." The CG/live-action movie will see families transported back to the prehistoric ages." Really? I hate that sort of thing, thats why I hated Prehistoric Park, can't they just narrate it like the original?

It could still work, as long as it didn't feature psychopathic dinosaurs antagonising people for no good reason (a la the JP3 Spinosaurus and pretty much every conventional movie dinosaur before the original JP).

I wonder too if it's just rhetoric -- the 'families' being the audience, rather than that the film will actually have families going back in time...

I wonder too if it's just rhetoric -- the 'families' being the audience, rather than that the film will actually have families going back in time... Hmmm, could be. The way it's worded - that the film will see families being transported back in time, rather than, say, allow them to be - would appear to imply it will literally feature people entering the TARDIS (or something ) and emerging in the Mesozoic. But it could be interpreted either way. We need more details!

Ah, yes, that's true. We do need more details.

Fingers crossed that it's good, I always get nervous when they advertise a movie being in 3D. On a side note, if a Walking with Beasts 2 was made, I'd like to see an episode about the Australian megafauna and another one with ancient girraffe reatives (been into those ever since I read that article in the latest PT).

From what I've heard of the demo footage shown for Reign of the Dinosaurs, we may not care about WwD once it releases.

Hey guys According to Wikipedia (no the most reliable source I know) the WWD 3D movie will be a remake of the series and will portrait mostly the same animals from the original WWD, with updated look to match the new cientific discoveries. Is it true?
It is write in the site as I quote.

God, I hope so. If it's reference-less, though, it's probably a Wiki hoax.

Have you seen Land of Lost Monsters/Monsters We Met? Really good section on the Australian Megafauna, from the WWD people
