Love the Kane Figure! What is that Wagner book behind it? Looks D&D-ish.

That is correct. I wish I had many more salas figures. Here is the Medicom zueglodon, which I might have gotten form you. You did get that 'Zeuglodon' from me (it's Basilosaurus--once the name is published, it sticks even if it's original association turns out to be wrong; see also Hyracotherium). Now you just need to hunt down the Gakken whale (appears to be based on a slightly later one, like Zygorhiza): And if you thought the Medicom was hard to find...

Ah, but it also comes in two color versions! ;D I had the chance, but couldn't be bothered--I don't do variations (except occasionally dinotales)--it feels like I'm falling for a marketing ploy. In fact, after BIN'ing the Gakken one, I immediately let the forum know about the 'bronze' one; it was bought within hours, so I am assuming that someone here might actually have bought it!

That mammoth is different, but it's an imperial mammoth. Mine is a wooly mammoth. I also have an imperial (columbian) mammoth that looks like a Salas figure, but it's trunk is raised. I got both it and the wooly mammoth togather, in fact. Neither is like the picture of the mammoth you showed.
I now already have the Gakken whale. What I lack is a new camera. The one I got was the silvery-colored one, not the one with spots.

That Kane book was an omnibus with all the short Kane stories. The scene in front is a recreation of a scene in one of them where he battles an albino smilodon.
About hyracotherium--hasn't the name been changed again, to protorohippus?

About hyracotherium--hasn't the name been changed again, to protorohippus? From what I can find, Protorohippus was synonymized with Eohippus; or has been synonymized with Orohippus; or is a valid genus for at least one species. Either way, it is not the acceptable name (couldn't be--it was published in 1896; Hyracotherium was published in 1840 or 1841).

Ah yes, "Two Suns Setting", if I recall correctly. Where did you get that Kane figure? I MUST HAVE IT ;D Do you have this book? It was a posthumous tribute collecting KEW's unpublished works, among other things. I'd like to see more of your ERB and Frazetta collections, too, whenever you get the chance.

The Kane statue is one of a series based on Frazetta;'s paintings, which includes deathdealer and some of his Conan paintings. You can find them on ebay sometimes. That book--does that have his Kane stories, or short horror stories?

Great collection, love the auroras, especially the sabre-tooth (this was the first model I ever got when I were a lad!).
What is the small terror bird in front of the "Future is Wild" book?

I believe that it is supposed to represent a Carakiller, a creature from The Future Is Wild that happens to look just like a terror bird. I'm pretty sure that the figure is made by one of the Japanese figure companies, but I can't remember which one.
