It's not really hideous, exactly, it's just that it suffers from what many of the Schleich dinos suffer from--a very old-fashioned view and design of what dinosaurs look like. The Replicasaurus line has been around for about 10 years, and yet they have only just figured out what every other company already knows--dinos should be more dynamic, and less sluggish looking. That's why, despite a great fondness for Schleich, I have very few of their dinos. Comparing their new and old Parasaurolophus is a good way to see the differences. Or look at most of their theropods--many are outright laughable (ever seen the Albertosaurus?) After all, we could all be very old before they finally get a T rex to look good.

I think the Albertosaurus is just plain creepy. And what do you mean their old models aren't dynamic--have you seen the movement on that Edmontosaurus! I too have very few schleichs because no stores sell them and shipping is a pain on the internet

I don't know. Schleich just seems to have a bad time with dinos. Until they had Papo, Bully, WwD, and the various Safari lines to inspire them. But they should be encouraged in their marine reptiles, and that Desmatosuchus is one of my favourite figures of all.

Wow! It wasn't always that expensive was it? I don't remember it being that much when I got mine when it first came out. Maybe $10. But for anyone looking for one, you could also try contacting the Tyrrell Museum gift shop (in Drumheller, AB)--the last time I was there, they had some, but I don't remember the price. I do know that they have mailed stuff out before. They also have some AAA dinos, rhinos, etc.

Wow! Very impressive collection! Some really cool ones, do you have all of Battats dinosaurs? How do you keep track of what dinosaurs you have? I like your collection of prehistoric mammals, I just started collecting them 2 years ago.
