It's been a while! And I wish I could say I've spent the past few months studying anatomy and technique, but... However, I have finally found a sketchbook with thick enough paper to withstand markers, but small enough to carry around, so I've been able to experiment with color and been reminded how insanely difficult it is. I have also come down with a bad case of utter inability to draw a theoropod (hope it's temporary ), which means I've had to focus on the other kinds of dinosaur for a change. As usual I've used almost no references, so these are probably less than correct. Still, the goal was to learn the general shape of the animals, and I think I'm getting there. This little Protoceratops went through a lot of revising, and is probably still too chunky. Not thrilled with the frill either. A slightly cartoony hadrosaur... and yes, I do realize what an impractical color white would be for a prey animal. ;D My first ever pachycephalosaur! This is perhaps the dinosaur group I'm least familiar with. The color is partly based on the bongo Tragelaphus eurycerus. I have a little Safari pachy in need of color, so I wanted to see if the pattern worked. Comments and critiques make me a happy hippo... seriously, if these suck say so and tell me why!

Nice! The heads on the proto and packy should be bigger though and the pachy's tail longer.

Those are nice, especially the last two! Do you think that pachycephalosaurus would have quills as well? Its just an idea, since they're Marginocephalies too.

Loving the hadrosaur (surprise, surprise).
Also, I recently learned that hadrosaurs do have hand claws after all. We'd been somewhat misled by the 'mitten' description, it seems (which is still appropriate, but only pertains to the cushiony underside and doesn't mean that claws were non-existent).

Still thereĀ“s a chance they had quills since we know of some basal ornitischians covered in "fur".
Great pictures. I really like the pachy pattern, though it has some problems with the proportions and the duckbill (I dont think it looks cartoony) and prot are also nice.

Sure there's always a chance but doesn't mean they have to have them.
