Hello All I'm hosting a FREE webinar on THIS Thursday November 10 at 10 AM Pacific time on sculpting dinosaurs with the artist friendly software ZBrush. This will be a preview of a longer class set for the 18th of November where I'll cover the creation of a digital dinosaur from start to finish. This is the same program I created over 70 dinosaurs for Dinosaur Revolution. Its basically sculpting digital clay! If you've ever been curious about new methods of digital sculpting and how it can be applied to paleoart or research for free this is the perfect opportunity. The webinar will be held at www.creatureworkshops.com/You can register there. The preview will be live and will be about 1 1/2 hour long. Hope you can join me! David Krentz

For those of us poor fellows who are in university at that time, would you please be able to record and post any of these videos at a later time? I am extremely interested in this!!

I believe the content might be made available, but I'm not sure. I'll check. Even if you don't have the software you'll be able to follow along. I am NOT a technical wizard and i will concentrate more on design aspects than what buttons to push. I use a very small toolset and try and maximize them. Just like real sculpting you can get great results from very tools.
Speaking from experience, it's fun to watch people use this software because the results are so immediate. It's like watching someone sculpt with clay.

I am curious, since this is a preview.. What would I have to do to watch the full "class" on the 18th?

Zbrush is PD expensive, but apparently one can get a free 45 day trial direct from the manufacturer. Worthwhile to do before the webinar? Anyway, I'm stoked!

I hope to be able to sit in on this one, though I don't have a microphone and I've actually got the flu right now so I'm not sure I can be up in time c_c But I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see it! It's going to be very fascinating, I know that much already.

I got an e-mail last night from Ryan stating "Scott Hartman of www.skeletaldrawing.com is joining us a panelist for David Krentz's preview webinar" This will ultimately complete my life...

Thanks for the dinosaur sculpting webinar preview. As a newbie, it was helpful to see which techniques apply out of the huge range of possibilities that ZBrush has available. It would take me several years of practice to get the maximum benefit from your expertise. You are a master.

This was pretty cool; I enjoyed it. I think the Zbrush program, althought kinda like Photoshop squared, shouldn't be too hard to use (esp if you have a basic template), just need to get in there and start using it and messing around. Anyway, thanks Dave and Ryan for making it happen, hope you had a good turnout.

Thanks for joining me guys and girls!
It was hard for me to see who was joining ( well, near impossible as I was sculpting and talking the whole time) but it's been great finding out who was logged in. Heck, even my college roommate and a friend from high school in Canada showed up!
There was a lot to cover in the preview, and I knew there were a lot of noobs as well as experts so I did my best to cover both areas. I'll be working out an outline this week, so if there was stuff you'd like to see let me know. Big thanks to Scott for being there for me and to Ryan for hosting it.
next week is when the course begins and I'll fill you in on any more details as they come.

Unfortunately, I had some kind of glitch and only got the audio when I joined the webinar, so I missed out and did not have the opportunity to attend as I planned to, I would have been interested to watch how one sculpts on a computer-
