im considering getting the large Schleich figures specifically their Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, T.rex (the better one with tail off the ground), and the Giganotosaurus. i would like to hear your opinion regarding them and if they are worth the money. (ive read not so favorable comments regarding the Gigano and i'd like to know if they are justified.)

The only one worth getting is the Brachiosaurus (though it's usually too expensive despite its size and good looks), the rest are rather poorly done sculpts.

(ive read not so favorable comments regarding the Gigano and i'd like to know if they are justified.) They aren't worth it--both of the rexes are terrible. The Giganoto is awkward, the Spinosaurus is a papo ripoff. The Brach is okay though. Expensive, but okay.

none of them are worth the highly inflated prices, skip them completely. frankly i wouldn't buy them if they were $2 dollars each.

The schleich rex has somewhat of a reputation around here for being the worst trex ever made by a major modern company ;D The spinosaurus is a very poor copy of the JP spino, and looks even less like a real spinosaurus. If you prefer a more scientifically accurate spinosaurus, I would recommend the carnegie one. I think its a pretty good size too. If you like the JP style spinosaurus, I would recommend getting the papo one. The schleich brachi is decent, but the carnegie 2012 brachi would be a better use of your money IMO. The only decent large trex figure that I know of, which is still available, is this one: www.toytokyo.com/shopping/index.php/page/product/product_id/3875

thanks everyone. i have decided to just get the brachy. whenever i see and hold the Gigano in the stores i visit, the size is impressive but there's just really something off about it. and you're right, the non-tripod t.rex is as horrible as the other one, and the spino is such a badly designed figure for that size and price. i will just save my christmas money for something more worthwhile, like the 2012 Carnegies and collectA. again, thanks for all the replies. Yay, the forum did good! I think a round of applause is in order! By the way, the Schleich Giganotosaurus really is a horrible, horrible figure. That head is just so very wrong.

What about the Bullyland Giganotosaurus? I think it looks better, less exaggerated.

What about the Bullyland Giganotosaurus? I think it looks better, less exaggerated. The Bullyland is much better than the Schleich, but not as good as the Carnegie. For one thing, it has bunny hands.

The Brachiosaurus at my local store is 100 bucks! It's WAAAYYYYY too expensive for just a "Made in China" pile of vinyl! It would have been more worth it if it had been marked "Made in Germany" or "Made in Portugal" like the old Schleich items. When you know how poorly Chinese are paid, 100$ for "Made in China" is just theft from the company.

In my nearest shop it's about £20, or the equivalent of 30 USD. Which seems much more reasonable...

But the Bullyland is marked "Made in Germany", not "Made in China" like 90% of the stuff we see in stores. That's a plus for Bullyland, is it not?

I second that. I have to say bowheadwhale's comment is inappropriate. We shouldn't get into these stuff here. We shouldn't get into these stuff here. Definitely not. I don't want to be tarred with any political brush (again). Best stick to discussing the merits of the figures themselves.

The only thing thats questionable is the curvature of the tail but other than that its accurate.
