LOL.....at the rate Papo is going, they should have an Iguanodon out in about two years...they've knocked out most of the common "dinos". They are only missing Dimetrodon, Quetzalcoatlus, Apatosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Protoceratops, Liopleurodon* (Please don't! ) and.... Iguanodon. Granted, a resculpt or two e.g Spinosaurus, Allosaurus (?) mixed in here or there. *Liopleurodon is not really a "common" dino, but its influence in pop-culture is ubiquitous, especially after the WWD series... and that's why the invicta lio is such a great figure.

The Invicta Liopleurodon (especially, the painted version) is pretty sweet. My personal favorite is the WS---wish it was bigger, though! I suppose Invicta was ahead of the game...

I bet they'd probably do something based on Disney's "Dinosaur". Don't they always base their dinos on pop culture? Either way, you can always expect something unique from them, for sure.
I already mentioned this. I like it a lot, but it's very expensive and hard to find.

*Liopleurodon is not really a "common" dino, but its influence in pop-culture is ubiquitous, especially after the WWD series... It's not a dino at all! (Yeah, sorry, I know what you meant...you did stick 'dino' in inverted commas the first time...) I don't think a Papo Iguanodon would be based on Disney's Dinosaur, necessarily. I can picture it having similar inaccuracies to their Parasaurolophus.

LOL. An Iguanodon with razor sharp teeth would be pretty badass! ;D Following previous trends of theirs, they'd probably give it broken, oversized arms and a deformed jaw!

Broken arms would probably be a given, I think.

*sigh* Yet another thread derailed into a Papo whinge-a-thon.... *Feels the sting of accusation* I think we were being smartypants more than whingeing. ;D I wouldn't have joined in otherwise. I think my position on that is generally understood.

Sorry if I came across as accusational, but I think there is already a thread to discuss Paposaurs...I kinda wanted to talk about Iguanodon toys, ya know? I personally love Paposaurs, but I see them more as "movie monsters" or "pop culture" dinos rather than accurate reconstructions.

I personally love Paposaurs, but I see them more as "movie monsters" or "pop culture" dinos rather than accurate reconstructions. I also happen to appreciate Papo for its strengths. I don't much care for the bashing being raised at every opportunity either, which was what I tried to explain. Forgive me, I'm being defensive because I'm sensitive about being charged with bashing on the one occasion I'm being playful. ;D Please pay no attention. Back to topic, however, I know the Kaiyodo Iguanodon was already mentioned, but this later version (I'm afraid I don't know the series) is my favourite Iguanodon (photograph by our Copper. ).

"movie monsters" LOVE LOVE LOVE movie monsters! Dinosaurs make ideal movie monsters because they kinda look like monsters to begin with. Have you seen a *Tanystropheus? Kosmoceratops? Therizinosaurus? They look ridiculous, fantastical and borderline imaginary! Edit- *Tanystropheus is not a dinosaur. Please substitute the word, "Tanystropheus", with "Mamenchisaurus" or substitute the word, "dinosaurs" with "dinos" (in quotes) .

I fully expect an Iguanodon with razor sharp teeth, oversized broken arms, deformed jaw, broken back and tail. However, they will still manage to make it sexy and marketable!!

Are you getting out of your mind!? With all those crazy features, that won't look anything like an iguanodon!

Yeah, I would expect a papo iguano to look more like disney's aladar, which wouldn't be too bad. Aladar was very accurate aside from the lips and eye placement. What I want MORE though, would be a papo carnosaurus!

The real question is whether Papo will make a modern interpretation of the Iguanodon or a Crystal Palace variant.... I bet they'd probably do something based on Disney's "Dinosaur". Don't they always base their dinos on pop culture? Either way, you can always expect something unique from them, for sure. I thoght that they alredy did that, with the Pachyrhinosaurus. which made a apperance in that film

I thoght that they alredy did that, with the Pachyrhinosaurus. which made a apperance in that film I don't think the Pachyrhinosaurus is based on the one that appeared in that film. The colours are somewhat similar, but then it's not hard to believe that they could have convergently decided on, er, brown.
