Some of you will probably notice that I was largely inspired by Steve Riojas' paintup for the Rex. Trying to learn from one of the best! Attachments:

Kind of embarrassed about that little Trike, I'm still not satisfied with the base coat color but oh well, for the sake of showing you guys the overall positioning of the figures, what the hey. Pictures were taken in my kitchen so I'll probably get my brother to take some nicer pics once everything is done...which could be a while Attachments:

Looking good ! The adult Trike reminds me of the JP version a bit.
The T-Rex looks pretty ornery ..love the spiked look ! ;D
The juvenile Trike looks good..his lighter tone could be due to age..so I don't see an issue.

Thanks for the encouragement, Blade! Yeah, I did plan to paint the young trike a lighter tone due to age. It's just that I haven't applied washes and drybrushing yet. Soon soon I'll probably airbrush a few white spots on its shoulders kind of like in deer young. I know I should probably be using birds as my source of inspiration instead of mammals but...eh so sue me

I did kinda the same pattern on my Para family piece..the younger has those big white spots and they were smaller on mom and dad :

Oh wicked build-up! I especially like the ground work. Though, something kind of morbid about a family of Parasaurolophus hanging around the bony remains of Parasaurolophus past

Though, something kind of morbid about a family of Parasaurolophus hanging around the bony remains of Parasaurolophus past Thank you ! lol ...maybe it's just washed down stream in a flood, or they are migrating and some that came this way before didn't make it....or they could be wondering right into a theropod's territory ! ;D I love little touches like that as it makes a kind of story..you get to wondering just how this scene came about..

Ooooh, I like the "wandering into a theropod's territory" scenario. Even more morbid! But I absolutely agree. These are the details that make a piece really come to life. That's precisely why I said a lot more work was left to be done on my kit. I got someone from work to build me a wooden base that's around 24 inches long to accomodate a more elaborate scene for my model. The possibilities are endless!

Hey guys, Not much of an update, but I just wanted to post pictures of a dead tree stump I sculpted using a toilet paper roll as the frame. I didn't really know what brand of clay to use, this being my first try at sculpting. So I picked up Plastisial Modelling Clay. Not sure if it's good or not, but it did the trick. Only thing I dislike is that it doesn't stick to dried clay and so you can't come back to it to add more layers (or branches, etc.). All in all, pretty d**n happy with the tree stump. Just need to find the right colors. Oh and I didn't work a lot on the roots since this tree will be partly submerged in water. Attachments:
