I keep bearded dragons too, just a pair now, named Puff and Spike - they are interesting little squamates.
They and things like the blue tongue skink are very tolerant of being handled by people, and often make nice "lap lizards" compared to more cursorial and intelligent lizards like one of the varanids. I have a trio of Leos and a pair of Fat-tails as well, also really neat little lizards. All of them tolerate being taken to programs and events, and most tolerate being touched by large numbers of random people as well.
Most of the agamids do have sharp serrated teeth, and while I have not been bit by a bearded dragon, I imagine it would hurt. My friend was bitten by a large Male Green Iguana we had at one point, and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when it was being hormonal. That lizard gave him 22 stitches worth of hassle for the intrusion.

My leopard geckos, ehhhh, not as much. But hey they still have that jumpy gecko in them. ;D Wow, I can't imagine getting bit by an Iguana. S'mores and Mango would never bite me on purpose.
