Thanks to Cordylus for organising this - here's what he has to say: "If you were wondering what was going on, this is it. The first official dinotoyforum diorama contest! Here are the basic guidelines for this diorama contest: Any member can participate and entry is free. Has to be about prehistoric organisms The deadline November 17th Only one diorama per member Entries should be sent via PM to me (Cordylus) here: dinotoyforum.proboards100.com/index.cgi?action=pmsend&to=leopardgeckofanOnce submitted, you can't "exchange" it for one you think may be better. The organisms in the dioramas have to be from the same time period- For example, No "trex fighting compsognathus" doramas Dioramas have to be new (Never released before) and original- For example, no simple things like "trex biting triceratops". Winners will be decided by a poll, all entries will remain anonymous until the winners are announced. There will be three winners, all of which will be featured in a special 'Winning Dioramas' blog entry. 1st place winner will also be awarded with a personalised virtual trophy for use as their avatar or signature ;D Now get out there and make an awesome diorama! Remember, you have until November 17th to make these dioramas, before it gets too cold or snowy out. Have fun! " There you go" Thanks again Cordylus, and good luck all. I may even have a go myself.

Or, of course, an Ice Age one? ;D Kidding. Go with interglacials.

That's it? So it can be natural ( not photoshop), Photoshop works, or a combination of both, right? So are you going to publish the entry for members to vote? Ok, let the fun begin ;D

Ok, let the fun begin ;D As long as it is a diorama with prehistoric things in the right time period and it is original, you can use it After all you guys PM me with the dios I will put them in a poll and any member will be able to vote for them. And think guys... What an honor it would be to win first place in the FIRST official dinotoyforum dio contest?

But thanks for handling the details of the first contest. Maybe next time someone else will take the lead so you can enter. I'm glad you decided to drop the charge, I think that would have been a big turn off for people to join.

I contacted tomhet about it, he gave me the OK, and then I PM'd both tomhet and dinotoyforum about the finishing details. I do hope someone else will take the lead next time, although it was fun creating it this time.

After all, the voters will surely take such factors into account. That is true.... Hopefully people won't like grassy dios. But still, there is the odd chance that a grassy dio will turn out good, and people may "Like" it

Count me in! ;D So you guys finally decided not to charge? Yeah - at first I thought it might be good idea to charge a small entry fee, a dollar or so, and that would become the prize money. But it would become a logistical nightmare, would put people off, discriminate against folks without paypal, and provide potential for scandal. You were right to delete that post

You were right to delete that post So I there was a post for that! I read it and wondered if it was a serious call, then it was gone! I think it was call 'would you be..." Yah, anything with money only makes it complicated, plus it's not like its a professional contest anyway. I think a lot of the members, me included ;D, will be more than happy to have a spot on your forum as a prize ( and one of your rare marine reptiles ;D)

Even if you say they are the so-called "Cycads" ;D I hate to do this, but I think since you already put out the rules and guidelines that no more NO's. It will only negatively influence the outcome if you keep on doing that. Besides, if you put too much restriction you may not get as many entries as you would like. It take a lot of time to creat a dios, be it by photoshop or out doors, to be thinking about too many No's.
