Congratulations boki! ;D I knew you had done that dio the moment I saw it And I knew you'd win! A few things I wanted to say, I'd have included less Diplos, several of them look identical. The rest is simply flawless. CCM, I loved the scenery, but you need better lighting, the flash doesn't look right. Tyrannax, the composition is great and the selection of animals was superb. The only defect - the ground doesn't look natural. CT, I loved your dio, you got my vote I hope somebody will post some feedback about mine. It's superb Tomhet (got my vote) - you just need a better camera. ;D I bet the grainy quality put a some people off voting for it - it's difficult to appreciate the composition and everything

I think I was drawn by the subject matter. As for critque--I think the graininess was a little tough to get over; I saw it as representing a photo taken underwater, but in the ideal world of dioramas that may not always be seen as a plus. Perhaps it is a result of photoshopping to achieve an effect instead of leaving as is? Although admittedly, pelagic scenes are notoriously hard to recreate, because there is no real background. And I need to know--what is that mosasaur? The sharks look familiar, like K&M figures, but I can't place that one.

I figured it was you since you've done many like it before. I pretty much agree with what others have said. I think it might be nice to do one in clearer water since I think most of us like to clear picture of the figures. I would like to see you do some Carboniferous or Permian Dioramas. I think you could do some cool ones.

Yes the grainy texture was too much and no, it was not added. It's just that I used my old VGA camera and a magnifying lens (these guys are tiny! The little shark measures less than 5 cm). I only used Photoshop to remove the bases they were standing on. sbell, the Tylosaurus is from the RetroClassic series. The blue shark is an anonymous 'chinashark', the other one I really don't know, any help on that would be appreciated (as a reference it's caught in a net)

I like the dioramas, they all were creative in their own ways. I think the winner was the probably the right pick, although I really personally liked the underwater one, was a bit more challenging to try to pull off. Came to this site too late to vote. I would like to see another diorama contest soon. Might make a suggestion- how about a themed contest, where everyone has to use certain toys in their diorama- then it would be easier to compare as opposed to the variety in the last contest- hard to choose really cause they all had their own qualities that stood out .

The next contest will be some time early in the new year. I would like to have a real prize for the winners next time too, and plenty of notice in advance. We will definitely consider your suggestion for using a theme - It is a good idea.

Just got back from visiting family, and very neat to see the results! "CCM, I loved the scenery, but you need better lighting, the flash doesn't look right" Thanks, and yes I agree, I felt that way after I sent it in, that the flash really washed it out. I did shoot it on top of my computer desk, and looking back, could have taken the time to set up a clamp lamp. I thought everyone did a great job and I like the one you did tomhet - its one of the ones I voted for!

I liked that your Diorama was 'Dark' it suited the forest and reminded me of a full moon night or something. ;D

I'm glad you liked my dio, underwater effects are my specialty Boki's was impressive though.
