There are so many reasons to cringe - which one did you have in mind? the wrongly placed eye? the impossibly bent neck? The price? The fact they presume this mythical monster is real?

If it's a mythical creature though it doesn't necessarily have to be anatomically accurate ;D Just like feathered raptors ;D

Unicorns are mythical, but that doesn't give model makers the right to give them two horns. Of course, in this case you have a good point because, although the ebay listing mentions the word plesiosaur, the actual box does not (as far as I can see). Nessie has a thousand 'faces', some of which are plesiosaury, some of which are not. EDIT - I just saw that you modified the post with a jab at feathered dinosaurs - ;D

Well, within certain parameters, artists can take creative license with representations of legendary creatures, like what McFarlane has done with the concept of the dragon.
Or like what paleoartists do with the similarly imaginary fuzzy dino ;D

And unfortunately on eBay most plesiosaurus toys do come with "Loch Ness" advertised somewhere within the title or description, and vice versa

Heh, I saw another job lot of dinosaurs that most members on this forum would kill for, but I won't say anything, except that the bidder will be receiving an email from me demanding hush money soon ;D
