Now that the Holidays are all over, I finally had the time to assemble all of my Yowie Lost Kingdom figures... all 50 of them! ;D Wow, they are fun to put together, but some just plain frustrating due to very small parts I have been wanting Yowie figures since I found out about them. Unfortunately they are very hard to find at a reasonable price since they were never released in the US as far as I know. Yowie is Australian, so the majority of their figures are native to the continent. What I got is the Lost Kingdoms series A, there are two other prehistorics, series B and C (mostly dinosaurs). I am particularly interested in A& B since they have many mammals, fish, amphibians, inverts, marine reptiles, and birds. I can do without the dinosaurs. The names are really funny, like Demon Duck of Doom (dromornis stirtoni)! I am not going to list the names, that would be very long. If you want to know the names of all the animals, you can check out the site below. I separated them by groups, makes it easier to photograph. So here you go.... I love this group! This photo is dedicated to tomhet! Hope you find the fishes and amphibians interesting [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7308191.jpg" And we have the birds... [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7308195.jpg" and the prehistoric mammals! This one is dedicated to Theri ;D [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7308200.jpg" and finally the dinosaurs ( not as exciting as the mammals, fish, and birds) [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7308196.jpg" These group I added here. They are the prehistoric Panorama set from Dino Horizon. Each set contains 6 figures. I don't have the entire set yet, I got these guys as a mixed lot. [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7308189.jpg" There they are, my last 2008 acquisitions ;D Oh, here is the link so you can look at the all the names if you like. It also has the other series. www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/akichan/lost-a1.htm

I think Yowies are charming I only have two though, others are on my wants list. What's that one in the first pic, top row, third from right? The one right next to the shark? It's some kind of prehistoric freshwater dolphin, I already put them away so I can't look up the exact name. You can look it up on the link I attached. If I ever get more I will make sure to save some of the double marine reptiles for yah

Actually last time I heard they weren't 100 % sure what Dickonsonia was. A Flat Worm was just speculation. ;D Dickinsonia is considered to be a cnidarian AKA jellyfish, an annelid worm, and pretty much anything else (including fungus or lichens). More importantly, it is part of the Ediacaran faunas, the first multicellular organisms (that formed fossils)--before the Cambrian explosion. For a while, they were considered to be a separate evolutionary group (Vedozoans) but I guess now some have been classed back into 'known' groups (at least according to some workers--I don't know nearly enough about them to really have an opinion). Most importantly--it is made as a cool figure (now get the Mawsonites from the B set...).

Yeah, it's a fossil freshwater dolphin--the Frome Freshwater dolphin.

Thanks so much Richie Most Yowies come in at about 2-3" long; I don't have the turtle, but the others (based on scaled photos): Dickinonia 3" Sea Scorpion ~3.5" Trilobite 1.5" +1" antennae Fish 1 (groenlandaspis) 3" Fish 2 (duckabrook rhizodont) 3" If you need help finding any, I gave the email address of someone in Secret Stuff, but I can give it to you directly as well.

Are all those mammels/birds considered prehistoric? Could have sworn I saw a koala in that set!

Are all those mammels/birds considered prehistoric? Could have sworn I saw a koala in that set! You must have missed the modern platypus too... ;D Yes, LKA included two moderns--I am guessing for a sort of reference (keep in mind that Diprotodon, Thylacoleo, and others, were essentially modified koalas). And besides, just because they are around today, doesn't mean there aren't prehistoric ones too--even modern ones may have fossils (or at least subfossils).

It's been a while since I added anything, and I have amassed a few more Yowies since them. Slowly but surely, the Yowies are starting to rival my Kaiyodo collection ;D Really love these guys. So here they are: Amphibian and fish group, really excited to finally own the shark and amphibian! Marine Reptiles The dinosaurs Tyhlacines and other marsupial carnivores (except the wolf ) Other furry critters, some cute, some not so The short and chubby ones ;D Bats Antelopes and a lizard Colorful birds! Waterfowls and the likes Small wren birds so, thats all for now. Believe it or not, I still have a long ways to go! ;D BONUS: As always, here are some bonus figures! Some weird fantasy marine critters! ;D And some small articulated dinosaur figures, not sure who made them. Cheers! ;D
