Okay so it's been a long time since I've updated this thread so this will be an image heavy post, I'll make two different posts. This will be what I drew in the rest of 2009 since the last time I updated This first one is a commission I did of a Utahraptor for someone who does not frequent this board. But I like it anyway so I will post it ^_^ This next one isn't a dinosaur at all, or even a real animal, but she's a character that a friend of mine in Japan created and I think she's just... awesome, so I drew her as a gift. She doesn't normally have... a garden on her back, but I took the most artistic liberty I've ever taken and put a garden on her back ;D This I drew in 2009 as well, my online avatar Sepp with my archaeopteryx character Pim. (Pim's wings are tattooed on my back!) I obviously took a lot of anachronistic liberties with this too... what with Sepp having lived in the Eocene, I believe... I'm not very good with true scientific illustration, it turns out ;D I attribute Pim's personality to be much like Raven, or Coyote, in Native American folkore... Here is Pim's Character sheet! I realized too late her wings are technically incorrect, and her inner toe should be held off the ground, but I can fix that in the drawings I do of her from here out. I'm sure I'll do a sheet for her again someday, anyhow. That's all for the 2009 paleo art Stay tuned to the next post, which is the stuff I've done this year ^_^

Now for what I've done in 2010. This is an imageheavy post too, sorry... First, I want to share with you guys a couple of the inks I did for Sepp's character sheet. It is complete, but it is a very large file and not 100% appropriate for this board so I'll pass on showing the entire thing. This is a profile view of her, I did this studying the Sinopa rapax skeleton insert in a journal excerpt I acquired. I don't know how accurate she is to the actual animal, because I only have the one skeleton to reference from, and the paper was published in the 20's or 40's I believe. She belongs to the creodonta order, for those who may be interested. Below her body profile is a head/teeth shot, and her paws. I did my best to make it as scientifically accurate as I could, within my own style. This is something I did for a friend, too. Her character is the little horned viper, giving the baryonyx a lovebite. The baryonyx is confused ;D (At this point, I'd gotten a new, better monitor and I could see how my scanner was scanning my pages yellower. I couldn't see the rectangular blocks around my subjects on the paper until I got the new monitor, so I reset my scanner's settings and I hope I've solved it this time, to make white backgrounds.) And, as a sidenote, the bary is not feathered, that's supposed to be an iguana-like crest of skin on his neck. I was commissioned to do this Rex for someone's tattoo on Deviantart. This first sketch was rejected, so I think it's safe to upload here to share I still think he's super cute. This one was an art trade with another paleo artist on another site. This is her cute Deinonychus Jajka And... this one is not paleo related at all, but I wanted to share anyway. This is purely fantasy art, but I'm really proud of it. It's another character that belongs to my friend in Japan who I drew the gardenbacked lizard for. This guy is a vampire who takes the form of a wolf. He's been shot, and I have heard of the similarities to That One Scene in the Lord of the Rings ;D This scene was entirely her concept, I am only the one who executed it I'm so proud of it because of the background. Who here has seen me do one of those before? ...That's what I thought. I'm working to do more like this in the future. This is somewhat mature content due to a little (purple) blood, but it is not a violent piece so I think it's fine to post. Last but not least, my WIP tattoo concept of a trilobite I'm planning on putting on myself somewhere. It's not finished, and it's Kayserops (I drew the whole thing full out, but the inconsistency of each side drove me crazy so I just mirrored it vertically on the computer ;D) And... that's all I've really done that's relevant to this board so far this year, and so far since the last time I posted in 2009 Thanks for looking, again!

I must say, you're a great artist. It's wonderful how you can express somewhat human emotions with your dinosaurs.

I like the Baryonyx very much. Any chance of a follow-up in which the little viper thing is being devoured? Much as it'd upset your friend, I have a bit of a sadistic streak...heh heh...

Really lovely work, as ever. As the others have remarked, the characterisations are wonderful. I also love the freshness of your marker techniques. I keep thinking I ought to try markers someday, too.
