Hi everyone. Just thought I'd send a hello to the fellow members here. I've been a dinosaur fan since I was a kid, and I'm 32 now, and that interest has never really faded. I did intend on being a paleontologist when i was younger, however, somehow got off the path and life intervened ... But I still do a lot of reading on the subject, and I do intend to head out to do some fossil hunting in Kansas, some time soon.
As you can tell from my user name, I'm a plesiosaur fan..and anything to do with the marine reptiles (mosasaurs, archelons, etc) in particular are my passion, but Plesiosaurs have always been my favorite prehistoric creature ever since I got my first dinosaur toy at Yale's Peabody Museum, back in 1986..the blue Invicta Plesiosaur (which I now have coming to me in the mail from an online antique retailer in mint condition!)
I don't have a large collection of dinosaur toys by comparison to some of the folks on here (I do collect a lot of old school Transformers from the 80's as well, and I do have quite a bit of those). But of what I do have, I think its among some of the best stuff I've seen on the market currently (and yes, Papo figures are factored in there as well...even though they tend to be very Jurassic Park inspired, and given that fact, based on the science of 15 years ago...but I have to admit, that Allosaur, which isn't Jurassic Park-like, is among my new favorites in my collection.) I would have to say that I have more Plesiosaur replicas then anything else (some better than others).
Anyways, I'll be posting frequently, and when I have a chance will take a few pics of my collection, which actually sits right above me at my computer desk .
Peace everyone
