I am one who does know the true identity of Captain Obvious- as he was one of my old ebay customers- I will not reveal his secret identity though- I will say he does have good taste though- one of the few to buy one of the Rush Icarasaurus models which I have always thought was a cool model. I had sold another one of those models to a guy who had seen one of the Rush casts of this unusual model on the desk of Jack Horner and wanted one for himself- this other customer had said that Horner also had one of the Rush T-Rex models and one of the Rush Phytosaur models as well, as these were all sculpted back in the 70's under the watchful consultation of Dr. Donald Baird of Princeton, who I believe Horner had been working with at the time- I wasn't around that early in the Rush history to know first hand-just second hand info here-
Anyways- glad that my project brought you onboard here Captain Obvious-there is a lot of useful information to be found among the many threads here- also some interesting characters as well-

Why exactly should we care who he is? No one important would call himself "Captain Obvious" and visit online forums about dinosaur toy collecting. I can scarcely admit to doing it myself.

Dan,try understanding the concept of joking around before giving responses, unless you WANT to look like a stuck up jackass that is.

You speak as though joking around and being a jackass are mutually exclusive. As a member of both groups, I am deeply insulted.

Hello all, I initially signed on for the chance to put my 2 cents into the Fauna Casts models currently being released, then I eventually found myself wandering randomly through the other threads too. Who is "Captain Obvious"? I will never tell! No one will ever find out that the real name of Captain Obvious is John! This will always be one of the great mysteries of the universe! John? There can be only one Draws silly fantasy style sword and adopts a daft french accent and squint ................................... The battle will commence atop some unspecified tower block in some generic US city ................................................ Heads will roll John (The real deal, not those referred to in crappy cop shows from the 70's ;D)

Even if I'm vanquished, there will always be just one more, ready for a sequel! Even I will eventually return, having been discovered not to have been dead after all, like characters in a fifth or sixth sequel (even if you see my headless body, that will simply be glossed over!)

I'm confused. It said the Captain started this thread, but it starts as if the original post has been removed? Why do we care what his secret identity is? Many of us have not used our real names, and in T-rex and Cordy's case, both being minors, that is a smart choice.
Oh, and welcome, Captain. Would have said so sooner, but I had been ill, and not frequenting the boards as much. I am better, so I am back. Kinda.

I accidentally deleted that post by hitting the wrong thing I meant to hit the modify button but hit the delete instead, but that post really wasn't important anyway I was only joking about the real name thing anyway,I only use an obnoxious screen name for a laugh I've come across pictures of your repainted models and I have to say that they are quite impressive
