What is that small red Carno underneath the Sideshow one? Is it a Kaiyodo?

It isn't really a "figure", it's more like a statue, piece of art...

You have the rex and Carno both? See, this kind of collecting is just way too excessive for my taste. I'm guessing you forked out close to $400 for both of those...and I'm also guessing the thrill of owning them will probably wear off within a month, unless you set time aside to stare at them every day. Don't get me wrong, I love collecting anything that has to do with paleontology and I'd love to own one of these, but I just can't get excited about something that is so ridiculously expensive and basically does nothing but sit there. That's taking a step back and looking at it from a practical point of view. Say what you want but this is not a smart way to spend money...learn some self-control man, or have you just got cash to burn? Sheesh

Anyways I like to buy them because they are really nice pieces that represnt dinosaurs in a scientifically accurate way as we know up to today. I know some people who have all of them in the series so im not too bad.

And there's people that spend thousands on movie props and toy prototypes. I don't think JPTrex is really one to pick on...

The low edition numbers also ensure these statues hold onto their value. Many other Sideshow statues, for example, are currently selling for more than their original retail price. If history is any indicator, they're actually pretty safe (and sometimes profitable) investments. If they weren't, there's no way I'd be keeping anything this expensive for myself.

It isn't really a "figure", it's more like a statue, piece of art... I guess my point was that this post isn't a piece of art made by any member or anything like that, and isn't a modification or anything-and shouldn't have been posted in the Dinosaur Art category- the original post in this thread just looks like an ad for the piece, which it is basically- this should go in recent acquisitions or in collections- or really in classifieds-not in the art category-not trying to play mod, just making an observation as an artist member-

^^ Not to be argumentative (really), but if we have like a statue in our backyard or something, or a painting done by somebody else, we can't show it here? It is for art *only* by us?

I think it's obvious it would belong here, but this is a mass-marketed piece, it's not like your example at all.

I posted this here because there were complaints when I posted Sideshow pics in the toy forum, and because previous Sideshow-pieces had been posted in this section as well. Didn't mean to cause any controversy, so feel free to lock/delete/move this wherever it should go.

You know....it just hit me who this guy reminds me off. Anyone remember the little pygmy T-Rex named Elvis from the Prehysteria series ? The look of this guy just sort resembles him I think..minus the scarring and such..lol www.coldfusionvideo.com/p/prehysteria3-d.jpg

Oh wow I totally forgot about those movies! My mom used to let me rent them from the movie section in Shop Rite all the time when I was a little kid!
