^I just lol'd in the computer lab at school, and is it just me, or does the the head on the Safari Acro not look quite right, maybe it's just a bad angle or something?

^I just lol'd in the computer lab at school Glad to be of service. ;D ...and is it just me, or does the the head on the Safari Acro not look quite right, maybe it's just a bad angle or something? I think it's the angle - there's a bit of foreshortening there. It's obviously a lot better than the Carnegie, but still looks a bit 'chunky' (especially the feet, but that's the unavoidable trade-off in making it a stable biped).

I'll still take it over that Papo atrocity, I can't say I ever liked Papo all that much, the detail is phenomenal but too inaccurate for my tastes, Safari always did a good job with accuracy (usually). With that being said, to each their own, I stick to Wild Safari usually but I'll branch out if I REALLY like a figure, unfortunately I'm too much of a completist to be satisfied with not having an entire collection ;D

I'm thinking we should compile all the verbal reactions to the Papo Tylosaurus. Adam's and Marc's are my favorite so far.

Ever see Caddyshack? "Boy, that hat's so ugly what do you get a free bowl of soup with it? Oh.... it looks good on YOU thou..." (I'm sure I screwed up the quote but seems to be the consensus on the poor Tylosaurus... ha!)

I still cant get past the odd depression in the vageceratops back, and the feet. The head is beautiful though. I wonder if it would fit the body of some other ceratopsian?

[Edited out my misunderstanding]
The feet could be better, but they are OK. The hands need to be turned outwards more, but at least they have the two reduced, clawless digits as is correct.

Dr. Adam Stuart Smith, user name "Dinotoyforum". Paleontologist. Dinosaur Toy Forum Creator. Basically the European Roy Chapman Andrews.
Also, I received official confirmation that Schleich is retiring many - if not all - of their dinosaurs. However, many appear to have "replacement" SKUs, suggesting that Schleich kept quiet in 2011's dinosaur market because they were revising many of their old dinosaurs. But even if this is the case, is it worth getting excited over? My money is on "no." The retirement thing is real though, that much is certain.

I'm not going to get my hopes up, but it's cool to fantasize about them hiring an actual paleoartist to do their next dinosaur set and suddenly becoming the next battat (*hint hint* Schleich, if you're reading this).

I think the Papo Tylosaurus looks kind of neat.
*ducks*
It's still horrible, but there's a weird retro appeal to it.

the awkward moment when the CollectA mosasaur might be slighty better than the Papo

I wonder is it the only new one? No others? Would love to see a sauropod from them. And i would love to see the new wildlife.

It's still horrible, but there's a weird retro appeal to it. There's 'retro', and then there's 'Crystal Palace'. Can we expect an elephantine Iguanodon and quadrupedal Megalosaurus from Papo next year too? (Not looking exactly like the Crystal Palace ones, of course, because that would actually make them quite cool. Just hideous.)
