I'm not sure...it makes sense they would now. Is the orig Diplo retired ? This new will prob also feel smaller just because it's a bit more slimmer and sleek in appearance. I figure it will be fine myself..though I do love larger pieces.

As far as I know the original Diplodocus is indeed retired, but like I said, according to their facebook, Safari is not retiring their original Brachiosaurus, unless something changed. Also, out of curiosity, I recall Dan saying that one of the new Safari's has a similar paint scheme to a certain sideshow replica, what are the replicas in question?

Gorgeous looking T.rex model except for the pronated forelimbs

The head is also a bit 'hollow' - in reality the areas corresponding with the fenestrae would probably bulge out slightly, if anything. Certainly there would not be two distinct openings in front of the eyes. It's a common mistake that artists make - the head looks too much like a skull with skin draped over it ('shrinkwrapped').
Ugh, now I feel like I've been overly negative. Other than that, and the arms as Dyscrasia mentioned, it's a lovely model. The detailing is wonderful.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. It's head is far too skinny, but a mistake I've seen countless times. I suppose it makes it look slightly more menacing, so I'd probably count it as artistic license.
Still, quite a nice surprise. I think I may have to grab it as I haven't seen many good T-Rex's recently. I have the Revoltech one and Papo one but want one on a slightly larger scale.

Ugh, "T-Rex". (H-Sapiens, anyone?)
Do you know if those pics are representative of the actual models?

Ugh, "T-Rex". (H-Sapiens, anyone?) Do you know if those pics are representative of the actual models? Those are the only photos (of the box art) I know of at this time. No idea if those are just drawings or photos of actual models. Triceratops looks nice (even though the front legs can't really be evaluated from the photo - could be rhino-like - but it still looks nice) Jury's out on the TRex til we see better photos - hands are pronated (so what else is new?) Still, these will be the first new vinyl dino models since Horizon issued the Jurassic Park line and its successors between 1993-1999. Just based on that fact alone we should all start saving up. New cheap dino models should be encouraged at every turn, otherwise they might go completely extinct....

The art reminds me a lot of Galileo's huge 1:5 T. rex (although the arms were correct on his). Probably just coincidence though, as Galilieo's has a spiny back:

That's the company in the first pages of PT, Master Fossil that had the feathered Velociraptor and those other new Dinosaur statues I mentioned a bit back. ;D
