Those look way better than the last time they tried to do a dino-theme set.

54cm...similar to the Sideshow T.rex maquette I'm not sure how accurate this thing is...but it sure is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I also like the fact that it is pre-painted, with an articulated jaw. Is this some sort of a statue/model kit or a toy? The reason I'm asking is because of the girl playing with it in the sample picture (as well as the moveable jaw)....suggesting that perhaps it is a toy. Does anyone know how sturdy these models (e.g Life Model Series) may be?

It's not actually released yet (available for pre-order through), but it's closer to a statue rather than a toy despite its moveable jaw...

The material says ABS and PVC plastic. So I guess this will be as durable as the large Sega vinyl dinosaurs. The details are better than most resin figures. Plus it seems that this T-rex isn't so fragile. Even a kid can play with it lol!

A new deluxe Triceratops? wasent the old one only out for only a year or two? Deinocheius: I wonder how they would make this one Triceratops 1:15: Finaly some food for my 1:15 scale T-rex I also wonder if these family pieces are joined together in one figure, or come boxed up in a set same goes for the Dino prey. over all this sounds like a good year for CollectA in my opinon

Darn, you got to post it a few hours before me (of course, I was sleeping when the list arrived).
From what I've read, 'version 2' may refer to new paint jobs; they are trying to line up standard with deluxe figures.
The T.rex with Struthiomimus will be predator with prey--the struth is dead. They are trying to give some 'food' to the carnivores'. Too bad there isn't a living one to go with it!
The families are meant to allow for smaller-scale dinosaurs; no idea how, but I am guessing they are packaged or at least strung together (it seems that CollectA is trying to balance play, display, science and collecting) so everything stuck to one base wouldn't be much fun. If this works, we may finally see lots of those little dinos (and others?) that we've always wanted.
And finally, a brontothere! People get their mammal wish, and it's not even a mammoth or sabre cat!

We may get more mammals in 2012/13 from Mojo.
I asked in their facebook page and the answer was as follow.
"Hi Patrick sorry for the delay. Hope we don't disappoint you next year, i am working on 2 prehistoric mammals now but i really dont think they will be good enough for release in 2012. I am still far from happy with them. We will have one dinosaur for 2012 which i think is pretty good but obviously it is you that will ultimately decide. However i do promise you that we will have 6 prehistoric mammals for release at the end of 2012.

Isn't Struthiomimus somewhat older than Tyrannosaurus? I guess it doesn't really matter if one just ignores the label...
Edit: Well, apparently I forgot about Struthiomimus sedens. Whoops! Sounds like an exciting prospect for a figure, I hope it's well-executed. Deinocheirus too, that's an interesting one! Hopefully it won't be sculpted as just a really honkin' big Gallimimus.

Dang! Why Collecta stopped to be available in Italy JUST when their better figures are coming out? Anyone knows something about the situation of the Collecta-saurs here in my country? Mauro, tu ne sai qualcosa?

Thank you for the names Mironimus-Rex. Do you know when there will be pictures? How Neovenator, Amargasaurus, Deinocheirus put? Some seem very interesting ... Especially herbivores ... Perhaps there will be some scenes bases for ... But it is better to expect

A CollectA Deinocheirus?! They haven´t even found the skull yet! I always think of him as a gigantic Ornithomimid.

For Sid. ;D Sorry but is important only for the Italian member. Speriamo perché a me sembrano sue marchi molto complementari Papo e Collecta. Verdemo!!
