Has anyone ever seen this ankylosaurus sculpt before? I am trying to find out the history behind it. It is close to 2 feet long and heavier than a resin reproduction. I believe it is an original sculpture done for a toy line that never went into production. Thanks!! Attachments:

another view. This don't believe this to be an Aurora product. I have information that it was originally sculpted for the ReSaurus carnage collection, but did not get produced??? Don't know for sure, that is why I am asking the forum members. This item is heavy and solid, an original sculpture, not a resin reproduction, otherwise it would not be as heavy as it is. Here is a top view of the armor. If several of the spikes appear damaged, that is the animal was sculpted, as if it had been in numerous battles. Attachments:

I was going to say Resaurus as well. I believe they made several pieces for a series 2 that never made it to production. There was a member on JP Toys that had pics of them..this might just be one as I think he mentioned a Anky.

Yes, I recall seeing photos of both this Ankylosaurus and the nastiest, most awesome and spiky red Allosaurus ever on the back of Resaurus' boxes in 2000. Sadly, they were never made as the company went bankrupt.
I always thought that the Papo Allosaurus was an attempt to copy the Resaurus Allo. prototype - but trust me on this, as my memory serves me, the Papo pales by comparison ...

So, if this is a Resaurus sculpt, and they went bankrupt and are out of business, does anyone know how to tell who owns the reproduction rights on this item?

Does anyone have pics of this allo prototype? I looked online with no luck.. Right now I have an email in to a fellow who worked at Resaurus, he promised to try to come up with the pics but was still looking for the old CD that the pictures were on...if he comes through I will let you know ...

That is why I am trying to find out the history of it. If this is the original sculpt and enough people show interest in it, who knows?

That Allosaurus was amazing...I had a pic somewhere..it was on another toy site in their old Toyfair pics. Maybe figures.com or action-figure.com ?
I would think, if the company is gone, not bought out..those were just prototypes not official molded and released pieces.. you could very well be good recasting it for sale.

Agree. The company is non-existent and this Ankylo is an unproduced piece not seen by the general public. I work as a graphic artist and asked around out of curiosity, nobody sees any trademark or licensing issues. I say go for it..
