Hi, I found this forum via google. I'm trying to find realistic looking dinosaurs in 1:12 scale, espcially a T-Rex (around 3 feet long). I haven't had much luck with google or eBay, so I thought I'd try seeking out some experts. Any suggestions?

I don't think I have a 3 foot Rex.. though a couple of the JP Rex's come close...I think TRU may have one of those cheap looking-semi-plush ones that's 3 feet tall though...and I believe Safari had a 3 feet tall by 4 feet long version of their anniversary Rex at one point..but the pricing was excessive I thought. If your looking for accuracy and size...I would try resin instead of figures.

I was looking through some of the other threads, and read a mention of Procon's giant t-Rex, which measures in at 33" long, which is right in the ballpark, and looks like a great sculpt. Three questions if I may:
Is this my best bet? Does anyone have pics (non-promo pics), or owns it and can give a review> Where can I get it for a good price. I'd hate to spend more than I had to for it.
Thanks!

Link and Pin Hobbies has it for $99 I think. That would probably be your best bet.

Dinosaur Farm has it for the same price but the shipping might be cheaper. You will want to check since this is a big item.

The Procon T-Rex is only 1/15 but still very cool, I bought it from a toy shop in Australia for $109. It looks pretty realistic and the colours are good. You need to find one now because there were a limited amount and the toy shop where i got mine sold out very quickly (i got the last one) and they said they could not get any more. I really wish Procon would bring out more 1/15 scale Dinos, i would love to find a stegosaurus.

I got my T-Rex today. I promised I'd post some pics, and so I shall. I'm also a toy collector, but my thing is Marvel comics figures. My collection is (almost) all 1:12 scale. In the Marvel Universe there is a place called the Savage Land, and this past summer Hasbro sold an exclusive Savage Land box set featuring Shanna The She-Devil, KaZar, and their sabretooth tiger Zabu. After buying the set I wished I had a T-Rex to display with them, as dinosaurs still roam the Savage Land after all. With your help I found one that's approximately 1:12 scale to display, and tonight I posted some of initial pictures of her on my website MarvelLegends.Net. Pics are here: MarvelLegends.Net/SavageLandThe pics are all pretty simple, but some of my fellow collectors were anxious to see some pics of my new find. I'm hoping to build a small diorama to display my Savage Land residents soon.

excellent, the figures look really good with the T-Rex, they really look like a set. Did you get your T-Rex on a base with its name and scale size, because mine did.

Yours and another i seen had no base, mine i got at a toy shop here in OZ land and it had a brown rocky base with 'TYRANNOSAURUS REX 1/15' written on the side of the base. I will post a pic after i take one. You should look in the model train ebay section to find some cliffs for your diorama, they sometimes have very realistic looking rocks and cliffs. I have just started to gather modelers books on how to model landscapes because i have decided to make the ultimate dino-rider diorama. Im still short a few dino-riders like the Bronto which starts at like $1000. One day i will get there and you will all see it.

I can't afford the deluxe store display rex, but I will get it soon. I've seen it and the only problem I have with it ar the teeth. They look quite fake, but in any case, I love it. My goal is to collectt EVERY T-Rex figure.

yeah i don't like the teeth either but the dinosaur itself is so much more impressive in real life, you will really love it. Im thinking of painting the teeth white and adding a little blood stain.

I think adding a gum line and some stain really help it out.. Mine came from came from the DinoFarm and it didn't have a base either..since it was shipped i nthe same box they received it in I have to conclude it didn't come with one...which is a shame since I had to add one to mine to get her to stand up... :/
