;D So, as promised, here is my prehistoric amphibian collection. Not a big one for sure ;D The group is also a very recently added category to my collection. I was inspired to collect them after seeing Tomhet's collection ( same goes for the fish) and being impressed by them ;D So, I started to look around. Not very many out The ones that are can be VERY expensive I don't have the Play Vision set, I think I have one figure from the set and I can't find it right now. I don't have many of them like the Starlux figures. Maybe someday, I'm starting slowly ;D Here they are, the cool, often overlooked, prehistoric amphibians ;D The Bullyland large Mastodontosaurus! I believe it is the larges prehistoric amphibian ever made ;D Really a nice figure. It can be really expensive [im The Kaiyodo figures. Two different version. [im The Yujin figure, both version [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7309653.jpg" The Yowie figure with a figure I'm not sure who released it. [im The TEDCO Prehistoric Panorama figures [im The entire collection! See, not very big at all ;D [im Hope you guys enjoyed it! The last installment from my collection will be the fish, amonites, trilobites, etc., at least for now ;D Stay tuned!

Not that I need more competition for when they eventually appear...but Kaiyodo has made several modern amphibians for their animaltales lines--including a really cool giant salamander that I really want, and can never find. The axolotl is from one of the last Pets series.
And there are more than you think--Panosh and Deiner both made a few as well. But overall, an overlooked group. There are a few other Yowies out there too.

Prehistoric amphibians - more special than the special prehistoric animal topic is already. I like them. Especially those Diplocaulus are wonderful. And isnĀ“t this white thing an animal with the funny name "Axolotl"? Or is it really a prehistoric creature? Gerrothorax maybe?

Do you have photos of them? I'm not too worried, since I have them already ;D It's just that silly Kaiyodo Giant salamander that I would like to get. Yowies Deltasaurus Deiner large and small eryops (these are the tough ones to find--and can be expensive if you do--they make a decent edaphosaurus too): Panosh Seymouria?, labyrinthodont? and diadectes? (also, amphibian?) (this one is a pain to photograph) On another amphibian note, I just picked up the three on the left in this lot (I did the best offer thing, got just those three with reduced postage, told her to keep the rest): Funny things about amphibians--the salamander-y types are pretty easy to interchange, depending on scale.

That's a jurassic temnospondyl from Australia. The Deltasaurus would probably work better for you. Or, like I said, find some modern salamander and newt figures; they can work for the general body plan too (frogs, not so much). Eventually I will put up photos of several others that I have, including some dollar store cheap ones that would probably be especially useful (but I have put up enough photos for now). The Kaiyodo axolotl, as someone pointed out, could work as a Gerrothorax.

Hey, Boki, nice collection! And, great pics as usual!! You say this isn't a big one, but you have way more than I. I have a great big "Oviraptor egg" of a collection -- zero! This is an area I need to look into more seriously. They are way cool!!

The Gerrothorax is shorter, with a shorter and different type of tail, which doesn't appear to be geared toward swimming. The Gerrothorax is fat around the middle more like a frog. The Axolotl is thin and more streamlined.

The new one you got, are they the Safari figures? I can only imagine what many rare and wonderful goodies you have in your collection I really wish I can see your collection in details but that would be impossible since you have thousands of them ;D

I can only imagine what many rare and wonderful goodies you have in your collection I really wish I can see your collection in details but that would be impossible since you have thousands of them ;D They might be small Play Visions amphibians. But there are also the occasional no-name-brand ones too. In a different thread (Paleozoic Roundup) I put a picture of a few small amphibian figures. The lot of Safari salamanders is in this photo, along with a single Play Visions one (the bright blue one). My son set them up as a Prehistoric Park--you may be able to see Nigel Marven in there.
