Aww, that's sad... And trust me to see sadness where there's supposed to be humour, huh? ;D By the way, Pagliacci is in fact the plural for 'clowns' (or 'players'). Pagliaccio is what he really ought to be called. I know it gets a bit lost when referred to in English because the opera's title is Pagliacci.

That's the thing you can have both..just like Pagliaccio.. Heh heh..given the choice between laughter and tears I'll laugh first..though that can get a little freaky I assure you. ;D Have you ever seen Lon Chaney's role as " He who get's slapped " ? It's about a sad clown character..as he starts off..then he turns to revenge :

Why do you suppose I come up with those absurd drawings of mine, ostensibly to provoke laughter or at least a smile? It's all one giant, beautiful lie. And no, I'm afraid I haven't seen that film. ;D

Ah the lies we tell ourselves eh ? Anything to keep right on ticking. Honestly I haven't seen it myself..I can't find it online so I'll need a dvd version...but the character is captivating..classic Chaney.

Gacy def had the creep factor going for him..and has been inspiring for countless clown-related killers and horror...but he lacked the humor ! I like my killer clown s to have some sense of humor..even if it's deadly.. heh heh

The Killer Clown One night, back when I was in high school, I went with a friend of mine to the local drugstore where he used to cash his paycheck. He was up at the counter while I waited for him. He was talking to a guy who also went to our high school, who worked there. His name was Piest and my friend knew him from wresting, although I didnt know him. My friend and I went off to a night of teenage fun. Piest later that night told his mother that he was meeting a guy afetr work who was going to get him a job in construction. That guy was Gacy, and Piest was never seen again, he was the last of Gacy's victims.

That sucks Malcolm...think how lucky you are he didn't invite you and your friend to meet up with him and this " guy " .
I honestly haven't done much research on Gacy, the guy isn't exactly something I want to promote.. I like the supernatural clowns more than real life killers...whether they are ghosts, aliens, demons or whatever.
