I just thought I'd share this link: www.lpi.usra.edu/education/timeline/mural.shtml#rightIt is from a 44ft mural at the Lunar & Planetary Institute (I don't know where that is--anybody know?). It is tangentially related to dinosaur-y stuff, but to me the interesting thing is the vast amount of time between the start (on the far right) and the first animals. And something about the "Reptiles Diversify" picture looks vaguely familiar...what could it be? Oh, and if this depiction of the origins of life offends you--I don't really want to hear it, sorry. I just thought it was kind of neat.

Ah - the trusty swan-necked Carnegie Elasmosaurus.
