Ooo, now he looks pretty rustic. I like this look on him! Almost looks as if his plates and spikes are made of ivory! Pretty darn cool there, Kevin!

Thanks, he kinda grows on me. I just needed to find a "look" for him.
Hmm. I seem to be putting these pics in the wrong spot. Must be spacing it, sorry.

Not a huge fan of this one - maybe if you'd picked out the osteoderms... ::shrug::
I like my stegosauruses with colorful plates, I guess!

MMM. Colored plates may be the most likely, as a sexual display type of thing. Or species recognition. What about females? Might they be a little less flashy? I like the stegos in When Dinosaurs Roamed America. The male's plates were dark, with orange tips, like my WWD one, which is no accident. The female had similar, but paler body coloration, and the plares were tipped white. Not as dramatic as this one though. I just sorta got tired of red/orange/yellow plates, and greenish bodies, which seems to have become a sot of default stego coloration. Not sure about the osteoderms on any of these critters, honestly. Should they be covered with skin, and thus the body color, or were they bare bone? Or, keratin covered, and thus any number of color variation? Artist's choice, I guess. Picking them out too much, especially on the smaller figures gives a more polka dot look than bony armor look, ya know?

Its ok. I don't need y'all to like everything, its no bg. I just did not like the original paint, and my first repaint had a pattern I found distracting, and kinda slapped together. I like this, and went with plain on purpose.

Terrific repaint,Teton...But,man,the sculpt itself remains awful as usual I mean,Battat has produced many AMAZING dinosaur models, why they made such a freakish Stego?!

It actually isn't that bad sid I have two of them, I love them both. And they are certainly more unique than any other stego out there.

Except that there is still no solid evidence that Stegosaurus Armatus actually had 8 tail spikes. Speculation based on disarticulated remains that might be a mixture of bones from more than one animal.
That said, it definitely IS a cool looking sculpt. As far as the spikes, given how many spikes so many of the earlier Stegosaurids from China had, 8 sounds good to me!
