Can someone please post different color schemes of a theropod? I am drawing a picture and need a few varied ideas.
This means you can post figures, pictures, drawings, etc that you find have interesting colors. It does not matter what species, as long as they are theropods.
Thanks.

Why not do a google search? Or make something up?

I used to peruse dino images to get color ideas, and had hundreds of pics stored on the computer, but I got rid of them all. I think you are gonna just have to go with your gut feelings. After all, you are the artist. You have often stated your preference for the green/yellow color pattern on the rex. Maybe a very dark grey--ish top color, with a much lighter belly? I am doing the invicta mamenchi along these lines--it will really showcase that head and neck twist action. I mixed equal parts med grey, med brown, sandy brown, stony color, red, kelly green, ivory, and a tad of black. It looks mostly dark grey, but in the sun, should have a better depth of color than just grey on its own. I suggest you do little color thumbnails with different colors combos, then enlarge and finish the one that you like best. Pus, you can always go back and get more ideas later. Like a little sketchbook of dino designs and patterns. Hey look, I got my smiles back..... ;D Geeze, the meds must be kicking in....I can't spell for crap tonight.

The bigger, the less colorful. The smaller, the more ridiculously bright. Keep in mind these animals lived millions of years ago, so just...think of a color we've never even fathomed before. It's the MJ speaking. Lol.
