After just buying original sculpey, is it wise to purchase Super Sculpey instead? The store does accept returns. I need an urgent, honest opinion from an array of members on this as we are leaving soon, and deciding to take my Sculpey box is going to be a major factor. If I take it, I cannot return it unfortunately as there are no Hobby Lobbies in California that I am aware of. I have had no experience with either, and if Sculpey does not hold detail to the point of the sculpture looking like garbage, then I'll choose SS. However, should I give this version of Sculpey a go? I hear it cracks easily, which seems to be its only flaw. Thank you for any opinion on this matter.

Josh uses super sculpey I believe, I disagreeociate is an artist that works in sculpey all the time and prefers super sculpey over the regular sculpey- I prefer the super sculpey over the regular sculpey- it blends together to itself better than the regular sculpey abd holds textures better in my opinion it is slightly firmer than the regular sculpey and takes handling with the fibgers better without wiping out sculpted detail- just my opinion- I don't know what CT means by it bends too much-

My super sculpey kept bending even after it was put on the armature. Now my poor velociraptor is stuck gazing at the stars...

So Dinonikes says SS, yet CT says S. I am at a loss here. ;D

Why not get a small package of each and test them out separately.

Not a bad idea, but I already have an 8 lb box of original, so all I need is a small box of SS. As to where I get this I have no clue. Hobby Lobby and Micheals only sell regular sculpey.

I've never had any problems with the Super Sculpey- you can find it at any good art supplies store- the michaels by me sells it-

Alright.
On another subject, I only have layered cardboard, and not a single sheet. Will the gaps in the cardboard cause trouble with my sculpture?
