The Opera House?!
Too bad I can't answer that question seriously. I cannot answer after I won correct?

Unless otherwise stated, you're free to answer as many as you'd like. The main page states that you cannot redeem multiple prizes in a single purchase, that's all. Just to make sure I don't go completely broke with these prizes, you know.

Karpinsky published his first paper on Helicoprion in 1899, just a touch longer than a decade ago. Sorry.

Nope, no answer changing allowed.

Even though I did it before you replied ? (the time stamp shows that it was changed a second before you responded to me) I assume Nigerasaurus is correct ?

I do lots of these games, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to win something as good if not better. Relax.

Uhh. ok. I guess I didn't see that I was not allowed to change my response in the rules. I could understand if I had changed it AFTER you said I was incorrect, but that was not the case.
Is nigerasaurus correct ?

Head was placed on wrong side. Silly paleontologists. Winner. Within 60 seconds, too. A new record? No, an even better-known factoid--it was the major factor in the Cope-Marsh split.

No, an even better-known factoid--it was the major factor in the Cope-Marsh split. Popular myth, I'm afraid. Marsh pointed out Cope's error two decades after it was published. www.oceansofkansas.com/NYHerald.html

Marsh pointed out Cope's error two decades after it was published. www.oceansofkansas.com/NYHerald.htmlBizarrely, your own example demonstrates that Marsh (with the help of Leidy) pointed out the error to Cope as soon as he displayed it, much to his chagrin. The article was written 20 years later perhaps, but the damage done was immediate.

That's assuming Marsh's hindsight claim was accurate, though. The article specifically points out the suspicious nature of these events - if he was so bent on damaging his competitor's reputation, why wait two decades to tell the world?
