Added the pair of Lios to the mix. Imagine David Attenborough gently speaking: "As the more colorful male gently caresses the female with the tip of his flipper, the other residents of Hell's Aquarium suddenly realize they urgently need to be somewhere, anywhere, else".

Ceratosaurus! One of the most iconic, yet under-represented theropods, this bad boy does have some nice model figures out there, and here they are: We'll start with the 1:40 Battat, a fine figure, although it does suffer from some flaws, a shortened face, painted-on teeth, a "nice try, but doesn't really work" paint scheme, and overly small hornlets over the eyes, which are overly large (IMHO). Nonetheless, a dynamic pose and overall coolness makes this one of the most sought-after figures of its kind. Then there is the WS version, in the 1:40, 1:45 range, not too bad really, apart from the horrendous white paint blobs on the horns and finger/toenails. A brief touch-up would really help this guy look good. Mine actually stands on its own two feet without need of the tail tripod. : Plus, it's readily available and dirt cheap. Now, here is one of the Bandai Ceratos: This came in 4 or 5 color schemes, but this is the only one I have. Scale is probably 1:50-1:60. Another version has the same model getting clobbered by a Stegosaurus: Here is a not too bad Chinasaur that I picked up in a dollar store some time ago; it's actually fairly accurate, and I don't mind the chunky legs. Moving, on, here is the lovely and elaborate Kaiyodo Dinotales version: One of my favorite Dinotales. And here is a tiny Sega version: A group shot: Finally, here are some resins, from CM Studios and Lasha Tskhondia, which were featured in my entry in last year's diorama contest: More pictures of which can be seen here: dinotoyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=3041&page=2 and here dinotoyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=3041&page=1I also have a small pewter figure which I can't find at the moment, but I think that's about it for Ceratosaurus! Any other figs you guys have; I'm sure I'm missing a few, please post them here.

God I love Ceratosaurs. Easily my favorite dinosaurs. You have a very nice collection! I am very envious of your Battat and dinotales Cerats! I don't have those yet. (I DO, though, have one coming in the mail next week that I will show off on the forum.) Thanks for sharing those.

Carnotaurus! Yet another iconic and under-represented therapod. Here's what I've got. First the good, from Battat: Not sure about a red/black dino with white horns, but still the standard to beat. Now the bad (Schleich): Not awful, mind you, but still bad somehow. The ugly: Sorry, Carnegie, you just don't cut it with this crappy version, which is just all wrong, somehow. Now for some alternates from the big guys: Colorata. This shows off nicely the ballerina-from-hell legs, but the tail is woefully short, as it is on a number of other theros as well. Here is a pewter version, I forget the maker; it's quite cool although the the head, neck and forelimbs are far too large And her is the Kaiyodo: I believe there are two versions, but this is the only one I have. Lastly, some resins, first the Dinostoreus and one from Jorge Blanco Some tiny Sega's And a Yujin: Finally here is a group shot: I'm sure there are many others, especially the Sideshow and Shane Foulkes versions, both of which look incredible, but their scale is beyond what I collect; nonetheless, enjoy and please post any others I have missed, just not Disney or JP. And yes, I'm looking forward to the upcoming Safari figure, which looks to be super!

Dilophosaurs! This fellow certainly has not been under-represented, as all of the major lines have had their try at him. Here we go, Dinostoreus: A nice affordable resin model in an unusual resting repose; although the usual suspects will take issue with the clapping/slapping hands Here is Malcolm Mlodoch's (aka Dinonikes) version, one of my personal favorites: Here is a Colorata, note the long tail on this and Malcolm's as it should be: As opposed to this later Colorata version, although nicely painted has a stumpy tail. Shown with Battat Mini-version. Continuing with the stumpiness, here is the Procon/CollectA and the otherwise fine Safari and Battat and the second Battat version and the Carnegie duo: Lastly, here is the Dinosaur Studios version: And a Battat resin master ( thanks to Seijun): Finally, a Kaiyodo kangaroo kit: I know Creative-Beast, among others, has made a nice kit, but anything over 1:20 is out of my range.
