All I said was I thought there could be two categories in the future. I don't know how exactly this can be misconstrued, but I,m done. I will never enter another contest in this forum. Nor will I ever just feel free to speak my mind. I am also getting a bad tase from this, and now more ashamed to have been part of it than anything. I do not want to be runner up. I do not want my name or diorama mentioned in the blog. I want nothing more to do with any of this. I knew entering or taking an interest was a huge mistake, and I have pretty much been proven right, so me and my jealous lame ass figures will bother you no more. Ok, I think we all need to chill out now, Ok? I'm sure you don't mean what you just wrote. OMG now I regret posting that one! Ok, let's not be too critical now. I know it may not sound like it, but I'm fine, really. The last thing I wanted was to have exactly this happening! Ok, if it resolves things, I will eat my words, delete that post, and take my place as the third prize winner PROUDLY! ;D ;D So, please, no more hurting words, lets all enjoy our HUGE accomplishments! We should all be happy, ok? ;D Nothing hurts me more than having and seeing us tear each other apart We are a very unique community and in many ways, like family. We bicker, we disagree on many things, but in the end we all support and respect each other I hope everyone can forgive me for causing this "ripple" Amen to that! How many of our friends and relatives can we talk to about our obsession before they have to "take a phone call" or whatever!! Let's stick together folks!.;D

No, I know it was agreed to allow it. I entered, which means I abide by that, sure. But, that does not mean that I agree about its use. As far as I know only I and one other person feel this way though. Just because I personally disagree does not mean i am unhappy about the results. I never dissed any dios, nor did I accuse anything of being unfair. I simply said that I personally think there could be two different catagories. One statement of thought, that's all.
Call it artistic differences, and leave it at that.

Whew! I'm glad you're all starting to calm down now. I was just about ready to get my "chill pills" outta the medicine cabinet and start passing them out! ;D OK, about the dios. Ajax, you remembered and spotted my Dippy! I really thought I had concealed him well enough, lol! And Boki, I'm actually surprised you didn't get 1st or 2nd! I thought your dio was stunningly beautiful and (if I was allowed to ) I would blow it up and hang it on the wall above my couch! Overall, I agree with what Adam originally said earlier. I thought there was a real diverse collection to choose from and each in their own right offered something very interesting and entertaining for each of our dino-nerd eyes! Again, well-done all!!! ;D BTW, I used photoshop too! But, it obviously didn't help me much in getting a 3rd place award, but instead, only 3 votes!! LOL!!! Like I said before, I thought mine looked better in it's original larger format. But, I understand, to fit all these on one page and have it open easily for everyone's different types of computers, it was probably necessary to keep them all smaller. And, it was my choice to try to use so many dinos and take a more distant shot of them. So, in the end, you really couldn't see very well all the little details I had in it. That was my mistake. No biggie -- live and learn! But, I had a great time creating it and taking the pics. For me, that was the most fun part about this (except for schlepping all those dinos around, lol). I like all the long shadows from the giant sauropods that are lumbering in and taking over the scene! But, once I had picked the final one and posted it, the excitement with mine was over and the excitement of seeing all the others was what I was then looking forward to. To win or not to win was not as important to me. That would've just been the cherry on top of the cake. But, hey, I got to make my cake for others here to see and enjoy. And, I got a kick out of that! So, Stoneage and all, here's mine in a bigger format. First one is the one I entered and second one is the original pic before photoshopping. Oh, and here's the "caption" and "storyline" I had for it..... Confrontation at a Dried-Up Jurassic LakebedIt is late on a very hot and dry day. After a very long journey in the hopes of finding water, a group of Jurassic giants have finally arrived at one of their favorite watering holes, only to find it has dried up. Suddenly, they are startled by a battle beginning between two Ceratosaurs defending their recent kill and their challengers, a hungry family of Allosaurs. The surviving members of the Stegosaurus clan, look on in terror! Who will ultimately survive and how many will inevitably perish? This is what I painted using photoshop in the first one I submitted that made it different from the original second pic..... 1. The bloody exposed ribcage and claw marks on the dead Battat Stego. (If I had to kill off one of my stegos, it had to be the Battat, lol!) 2. The dripping bloody mouths and claws of the two Ceratosaurs. 3. On the different and larger looking "Allo" that's closer to the camera (actually the WS Carcharodontosaurus, hehe!), I added a longer tip to it's tail and longer, more visable claws to it's exposed right hand. 4. On the old Carnegie Diplo, in the background, I repainted his colors in photoshop to go better with the my Invicta and new Carnegie Diplos. I didn't change the colors on the Battat or WS Dippies because in my mind, they were really Barosaurs. Hehe! 5. For the Brachi's, I added the golden chests to the Schleich and Carnegie figures to go better with the Bullyland Green Brachi that's in front of the herd. I also shaded the Schleich one with some greens so his mostly all brown appearance wouldn't stick out so. That's about it except for playing with the contrast a bit. But, there you go -- photoshopped! ;D

WELL. I will say that I never even noticed all of those little differences until you pointed them out. That's cool. You are right, the smaller scale did yours no favors.

Okay, here are the other dio's I put together. I had them narrowed down to these top six, when about 2 weeks before the deadline, a package from DK unexpectedly arrived with his Jobaria and pals. So I worked like mad to get them painted and put in a scene, and that turned out to be a good choice. Hope y'all enjoy these, your comments are welcome. Bad Neighborhood On the Prowl Run, Forrest, Run! Morning Munch I really liked the simple elegance of this one. And yes, I did vote for Pangolin's! Breakfastus Interruptus Face-off!

Wow Radman! I love the Prowl one! That would of been funny if you had put up that stego too. I like it, simple elegance is exactly what was going through my mind. No need to be fancy, if any of us went to the jurassic we would probably see just that. Minimal dramatic fights, lots of browsing on vegetation. Not that I wouldn't want to see the epic Allo battles.

What are the two dinos in the Prowl diorama? They look familiar, but I can't place them.

Just wanted to thank everyone who voted. There were a lot of really nice dioramas this year, I especially liked Tomhet's and Tenton's both turned out great. I probably took at least 50 pictures over the period of 3 days of my diorama before I lucked out and got that shot. I'm hoping to get individual pictures of the Allosaurs that were used in my diorama up in the Customs forum sometime either today or tomorrow, I still have to touch up a couple of paint scrapes on one of them.

Hey Radman, out of curiosities sake could you make your stego pic Black and White? I'd love to compare our very similar dio choices. Thanks!

So.... No more diorama contests until 2010??! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I need to redeem myself as a winner again, LOL! Just kidding! Anyway, we could have one for each season?! Next one could be a Fall scene, then a Winter, a Spring and so on.

Hey radman, cool dios, many of those you showed could have easily won! I didn't feel that the Jobaria one was your best piece though, you could see the grass behind the dinos

Which ones did you like the best? As for the Jobaria, I figured the grass was far enough away to not be distracting (back to the drawing board!). I liked that one the most because I actually painted each piece myself. The Afro on the right is my avatar repainted (also seen in Face-off!). Thanks to all who commented on the foliage; I'm sure I spent more time making the cycads and palms than anything else! ;D
