I haven't seen a thread like this anywhere, but I wanted to start one so I could commiserate with others.
One of my biggest goofs was when I saw, probably ten years ago, the complete collection of Playvision prehistoric amphibians in not one, but two toy stores in the same town. I got six of the eight, but for some odd reason passed on two of them. They were about .50 cents a piece.
Two figures that I can never find now...
*sigh*

At that time, I thought it was expensive, so I postponed buying it until I got the entire set. Big mistake! When I was ready to buy, it was already unavailable and can't be found anywhere! Now, it's the only BL mammal I don't have

When i was in Drumheller back in 97' or so the giftshop at the royal tyrell had every Battat figure. I bought a bunch but instead of buying one of each I bought multiple's of some figures. Now i'm not kicking myself for buying Battat's, I did buy the Diplo, but I could have bought the whole set. Now I am never going to get that Acro without selling my kidneys. Not a huge dissapointment but it's my only one.

Sounds like you were still pretty freakin' lucky, Mat. I probably wouldn't have had the foresight to purchase multiples.

The reason why I like my figures in pairs ;D I usually get a third "extra" as investment. Good to have spare figures for trades, that's how I ended up acquiring many hard to get figures ;D And if you like making diorama, it helps to have more than one ;D

I could have bought a Battat Diplodocus on ebay 6 months ago with a BIN price of 15 dollars, but it was the one day that I forgot my dad's password and could not get in contact with him. I was terribly depressed after that. ;D

I was an idiot recently and messaged a lady to tell her she had a Battat T-rex in her son's bag of dinosaurs she was selling with a 'buy it now' price of $15. She would not post international so i couldn't buy it and didn't want anyone else to get it so i told her it was worth much more and she pulled the sale. I regret now not letting someone else see it and buy it. I was being mean.

Back in the 90's, when I was at LSU, for a while on campus they had a small animatronic dino display, with maybe 3 or 4 lifesize dinos that rolled their eyes and moved their heads. A little gift shop sold some dino models including a cool sauropod that I wanted to buy but never did 'cause I was in grad school and couldn't bear spending the 10 bucks or so it cost on something non-edible. I wish I had it now or at least knew what it was, I think they were unpainted but not as big as the Invictas. Anybody know?

You should have had one of your pals in the US (or wherever) buy it and send it to you... ;D Ah that hindsight - 20/20 isn't it.....

I've struck gold that way more than a few times, back when I was manically logging in all hours of the day as I was looking for a particular rare piece ....

My biggest regrets dino-wise: Selling my complete 10-piece little Battat collection 5 years ago, as well as my complete Bullyland collection with, yes, the Deinotherium that I had bought from Link and Pin for $19.99.
DAM* that still irks me!!!

There have been a few that I've missed along the way, like many Saurian Studios resin models I could have ordered about 10 years ago now, like the Montanoceratops and Leptoceratops models by Mike Jones, which went out of production before I could get to them along with the rest of the line.Dissapointing as it may have been for me to miss those,I still think more of what I do have (Lunar Models' Ceratosaurus, and Saurian Studios' Pteranodon were some of those that won out over the others in the end).

The old Schleich Ceratosaurus. It was quite abundant in toy stores ten or so years ago, but except from Invictas I didn't collect dinosaurs in those days and found it very ugly, too.

Libra, I have a schleich ceratosaurus that you would like I regret not getting more JP things back in 2001. I remember seeing them on the shelves and touching their wounds. I just didn't like dinosaurs back then. I also regret not getting all the lego DINOSAURS back in the same target I still go to today. Grr. And I regret not getting the schleich baryonyx when it was still available at link and pin. I also remember the carnegie psittacosaurus in a local toy store that could have been mine, but I didn't like plant eaters then....
