Like my current sculpture, this project will be of Hyneria. Due to reasons, I will be traveling and unable to ship my previous Hyneria with me. This Hyneria will be 1:12 scale, a much larger sculpture than my other 1:40. This thread will include pictures of my progress. Honestly I have no idea why I'm on this Hyneria kick. So, with that said, let us begin... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Many steps were learned from Dinonike's advice, as well as several other resources) I begin by sizing up a selected picture of the animal I have chosen. I use Paint and Microsoft Word for this (For those PC users like myself). I make sure the picture, upon being printed, is the right size. I cut out the animal from the paper, also snipping off the fins that will be sculpted individually. I then glue (Or in this case tape) my picture to a sheet of cardboard or aluminum ) At the time my available materials were low, so tape was an excellent substitute) Using a powerful pair of scissors or wire cutters I slowly cut out my armature. (Be careful when doing this as the aluminum will often leave razor sharp spurs of metal that will cause bleeding) I also glue/tape and cut out the fins. Now, I use a hot blue gun and slowly glue a thick, powerful, yet hand-flexible metal wire to the length of the animal cut out. I then bend it in a pose of my liking. That is my progress, with much to come!
