Tyrannosaurus rexManufacturer: Trcic Studios Medium: Resin Approximate Retail Value: $300This is from the very last batch of Trcic's Meso-Zoo Dinosaur model kits, all of them cast in resin. Trcic, as you some of you may know, has a series of finished models currently being manufactured by Kinto Favorite of Japan, but he's famously credited with sculpting the Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus. This version depicts a rather bird-like, active theropod, more closely resembling the real animal than the Hollywood-ized JP version. The detail on this guy is amazing. He's made at 1:35 scale, smaller than the Carnegie Tyrannosaurus, but I daresay more detailed than any Rex statue produced by Sideshow. I've never gotten into kits myself, but if there's anything that might convert me, this is it. Wow. I might take photos of the Triceratops and Raptor kits as well, if anyone's interested. I know I am.

Images of Triceratops from Michael Trcic's Meso Zoo model kit collection Also very crisp in the details. With a few touch-ups, it really looks quite simple to assemble. The instructions recommend a drumel for some areas. Now if only I had some paint skills...
